Project Linus Onondaga County NY Project Linus is a volunteer non-profit national organization with a two-fold mission. Crochet? Quilt? Or make tie fleece blankets?

First, it is our mission to provide love a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts Since September of 2000, when the Onondaga County Chapter was started, until January 2021 a total of 22,843 blankets, afghans and quilts have been delivered to children who needed a “special hug”. We donate to the following agencies, to name a few:
Area Hospitals, including Galisano Children's Hospital, Community, University
Hospice, grief counseling for children who have lost a loved one
Hope for Bereaved
TAPS – a camp for children who have lost a parent on active duty in the military
Hutchings Psychiatric Center
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center
Salvation Army Homeless Shelter
Camp Erin
