Countdown to SBL 2023-2024 season is underway!

Dear Syosset Basketball Families,

Many of you have reached out regarding mask guidance for the Syosset Basketball Intramural and Rookies Program. From the start of this 2021-2022 season, Syosset Basketball has taken its COVID 19 guidance from the Syosset School District. With that said we will continue to follow their guidance and make masks optional for the remainder of the season (unless guidance changes).

For some, this change is a positive development, while for others, it will cause concern. For this reason, it is crucial we all (players, coaches, referees, scorekeepers and spectators) exhibit respect, support and understanding towards each other.

We hope everyone has had a great season thus far and we wish you good luck in the playoffs (if applicable).

Dear Syosset Families,

It is with overwhelming excitement that we are able to announce that the Syosset Basketball League IS BACK, and we intend to have the intramural program this year! The SBL basketball program will be available to grades PreK - 12th and we also plan on running all Syosset Travel Teams. See below for a full list of programs offered:

• Rookies Program (boys & girls):
o PreK Grade Youth Basketball Clinics
o Kindergarten Grade Youth Basketball Clinics
o 1st Grade Youth Basketball Clinics
o 2nd Grade Youth Basketball Clinics

• Boys:
o 3rd/4th Grade Intramural League
o 5th/6th Grade Intramural League
o 7th/8th Grade Intramural League
o 9th/10th Grade Intramural League
o 11th/12th Grade Intramural League

• Girls:
o 3rd/4th Grade Intramural League
o 5th/6th Grade Intramural League

With that being said, we will have to implement COVID-19 policies to ensure the safety of our players, coaches, officials, scorers, and spectators to the best of our ability. Syosset Basketball will follow the Nassau County and Syosset School district guidelines that are required of us. In addition, Syosset Basketball will implement our own set of guidelines to ensure everyone's safety - more to come here.
The COVID-19 pandemic has given the Syosset Basketball League some time to reflect on our past 25 years. Throughout the past year, we have decided to evolve some components of this program, one being the registration process. We hope to roll out the registration process in earlyNovember which will be fully ONLINE!

From the bottom of our hearts, we are so excited to get the league back up and running. This will continue the process of helping our children return to the “new” normal. Stay tuned for future updates!
