💜 Wear Purple for Domestic Violence Awareness 💜

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we’re proud to support Ruth’s Cottage & The Patticake House by participating in Purple Thursday on October 15th.

We encourage our members, friends, and community to wear purple that day in honor of survivors, in memory of lives lost, and to help raise awareness that help, hope, and support are available for those experiencing domestic violence.

Wear your purple, snap a photo, and help spread the message. 💜

It's coming!!!!!

Get into that closet and find your purple!

Our Sylvester Woman’s Club was honored to take part in GFWC’s National Day of Service, with this year’s focus on domestic violence awareness and prevention. 💜

For our project, we created “Hope Notes”—handmade cards filled with words of encouragement, strength, hope, and kindness for individuals served by Ruth's Cottage & The Patticake House, our local domestic violence support organization.

Each card was made with intention, love, and many prayers for the person who will eventually hold it in their hands. Our hope is that these simple notes serve as a small reminder that they are cared for, supported, and surrounded by a community that believes brighter days are ahead. 💌

Sometimes the smallest gesture can carry a powerful message: You are seen. You are valued. There is hope.

We are grateful to every club member who poured her heart and creativity into this meaningful project, and to Ruth’s Cottage/Patticake House for the important work they do in our community every day. 💜
