Congratulations!
On June 12, David Saygers, the founding Artistic Director of Toledo School for the Arts will retire after 25 years. During his time at TSA Saygers established and maintained the various arts programs that the school offers. Through his artistic leadership the schoolβs arts programs developed from the usual school offerings of music, visual arts, theatre, and dance to include programs in video production, technical theatre, music engineering, fashion design, creative writing and so many others.
Under his watchful eye and supportive leadership, TSA has produced over 100 performances each year, many to sold-out audiences. And what would the TSA school year be without the year-end finale, Kaleidoscope? Kaleidoscope, that iconic TSA performance that sums up a year with a performance as varied, beautiful and artistic as the students themselves, all under the careful supervision of David Saygers.
Saygers said of his time at TSA, βIf you had had the chance to see TSA as Iβve seen it, to see all the hard work, diligence, struggle, reward, applause and joy, to revel in the successes and find resolve in the failures, to experience the pride in watching so many young artists find their voice and be completely in their moment, then I am sure you would feel as fortunate as I do.β
Continuing the legacy that David Saygers leaves behind, will be a familiar face from the TSA Staff, former theatre teacher, Juliette Quinlan.
Join Toledo School for the Arts in wishing David Saygers the very best in his retirement, and honor his amazing legacy that can be seen in the arts programs and productions of Toledo School for the Arts.
