An inspiring evening was enjoyed by all at our 2026 Sylvania Franciscan Gala last week! Guests dined, danced, and supported the impactful ministries of the Sylvania Franciscans-Sisters of St. Francis. We already look forward to next year!

Please join the Bethany House and the Toledo Lucas County Public Library at the Northwest Ohio Silent Witness Project Unveiling Ceremony.

Thursday, October 8 | 6 – 8 p.m. | Main Library, McMaster Center

The 2026 Northwest Ohio Silent Witness Project exhibit features more than 40 figures and dozens of retired chest plates, each representing a life abruptly and violently ended by an intimate partner or stalker. During the unveiling, the silhouettes will be revealed one by one in a solemn ceremony. Each Silent Witness will be represented by an individual reader, who will recount the story of the girl or woman represented by that figure.

This event is free and open to the public; however, due to the intense nature of the program, organizers ask that those in attendance do not bring young children.

Trauma is the invisible force that shapes lives and drives behavioral health crises. It shows up in classrooms, hospitals, courtrooms, homes, and pews long before it's ever named. Understanding it changes how we respond to it.

Join Sophia Center for the Trauma-Informed Care Summit: a group viewing of Dr. Gabor Maté's documentary The Wisdom of Trauma, followed by a Lunch and Learn discussion in small and large groups.

In this film, Dr. Maté offers a new vision: a trauma-informed society where parents, teachers, physicians, policy-makers, and legal personnel aren't focused on fixing behaviors or suppressing symptoms, but on understanding the wounds behind them.

Explore the roots of human pain and the pathways to healing. After the discussion, representatives from trauma-informed organizations will share resources, programs, and services with attendees.

3 CEU's approved by the CSWMFT Board.
