Don't miss out on this year's OPEN STUDIO TOUR! The 2026 Open Studio Tour is just around the corner - starting THIS Friday, Oct. 16 - when dozens of Henderson County artists will welcome the art loving public to peek into their personal creative universes!

Applications are now open for the 17th Annual Handmade Holiday Sale, happening Thursday, November 19 from 10 am - 5 pm at Bardo Arts Center.

WCU students, faculty, staff, and alumni creating high-quality handmade work are invited to apply. From ceramics and jewelry to textiles, original artwork, sculpture, and more, we can't wait to see what our WCU community is creating!

This week: a paid public-art commission, gathering space at Lamplight AVL, a school looking for a gallery partner, and a paid teaching role in Black Mountain.

🎨 CALL FOR ARTISTS | Asheville Maker Faire — Deadline November 13
Buncombe County artists: create a kinetic sculpture for the 2027 Maker Faire and receive a $1,000 award, plus a day on display at A-B Tech's Conference Center.

🏛️ SPACE | Teaching/Gathering Space Available — Lamplight AVL — Deadline November 15
A temporary classroom and gathering space, offered on a 50/50 split with no upfront cost to the artist.

🖼️ GALLERY PARTNERSHIP | Claxton Elementary School — Deadline November 15
A local gallery or nonprofit space is invited to host a 4th-grade student exhibition inspired by Kehinde Wiley with portraits, photography, and writing celebrating how kids learn.

🩰 JOB POSTING | Tap/Jazz Teacher — Black Mountain Center for the Arts — Deadline November 20
Teach three back-to-back youth dance classes on Tuesday afternoons starting January 2027, and choreograph the spring recital.

🎨✨ KIDS ART CLUB | OCTOBER 15 ✨🎨

Calling all young artists! Join Rumi Kakareka for another fun, hands-on session of Kids Art Club!

Each session brings a new creative project where kids can explore different art materials, tools, and techniques while building their skills and confidence. Every project is designed so that everyone can participate and create! 🎨
