Sykesville Parks & Recreation

Want to help shape parks and recreation in Sykesville?

SPARC is looking for enthusiastic community members who want to get involved — whether that means volunteering at events, helping with projects, or taking the next step and serving as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner.

Commissioners help guide ideas for parks, programs, events, environmental stewardship, and community spaces, while working alongside Town staff and other volunteers to make those ideas happen.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to help with that,” this is a great time to get involved.

We currently have an open Commission seat and would especially love to hear from residents interested in serving.

Sykesville’s Sensory-Friendly Trunk or Treat returns on Sunday, October 25 from 1–3 PM.

This smaller, more relaxed Halloween experience is designed for children and families who may prefer a calmer alternative to a busy traditional trick-or-treat event.

Families can visit decorated trunks, collect treats, and enjoy Halloween at their own pace in a welcoming environment.

More details will be shared as we get closer, but mark your calendars and help us spread the word to families who may enjoy a little less hustle and bustle with their Halloween fun.
