The Downtown Sykesville Connection (DSC) is a 501c3 non-profit and a State and Nationally accredited Main Street Program. The DSC operates as per the Main Street four-point approach - a time-tested framework for community-driven, and comprehensive revitalization - to improve the quality of life downtown Sykesville for all. The DSC administers and funds the downtown public art exhibits, community
programs, community gardens, Main street sound system, the Parklet, Main Street events, and more.

The historic Town of Sykesville overlooks the Patapsco River and is located on the B&O Railway bordering both Howard and Carroll Counties. Tour our historic Main Street, take a stroll overlooking the Patapsco River and if you're lucky, a train may cross your path. Don't let our small size fool you. Sykesville has something for everyone!

We are on the National Register of Historic Places and voted the best Town in Maryland and 10th best in the country for raising a family by Bloomberg Businessweek, November 2011. We received the title of Coolest Small Town in America by Budget Travel in 2016 and the title of Best Main Street in America by Independent We Stand in 2020. We were recognized as one of the 8 best-performing Main Street programs in the Country as a semifinalist in the Great American Main Street Award competition.
