✨ Small Biz Babe Feature ✨

Today’s feature is Giggling Moose Photography! Giggling Moose is owned by Abby Garton-Elliott. She started her business back in 1997. She has rebranded twice due to moves and growth within the business.

Her father was an entrepreneur, so Abby knew how much work goes into owning a business. When she started college for Photography, she never planned to own her own business. After a divorce, it sparked her desire to run her own business. By doing that, she could support her small family while still being at home with her son.

Giggling Moose Photography specializes in services including Wedding, Portraiture (Family, Corporate, Pets), and Bo***ir photography. Sessions are by appointment only. Her studio is located on the west side of Aurora and she has a pop-up location in Yorkville. She plans on moving to a larger facility soon to better serve clients! If you don’t want to travel to her studios, she also does outdoor photoshoots around Northern Illinois.

Abby states: “My proudest achievement personally, is being able to run a business that nets enough to support my family and home without having to miss out on special and important moments of my son's life. My proudest business achievement would have to be my books being published documenting the aftermath and rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina and the funds it helped raise for the arts & music programs of the schools along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Between my images being used by Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and BBC, to being interviewed on Live ABC News, radio shows and newspapers; it was a whirlwind!”

Photography is an amazing art, and the industry is full of talented individuals. No matter who you choose as your photographer, make sure you find someone who speaks to your style, someone you feel a connection to, and most importantly someone who is running their business by the book to protect every one of your special moments.
