Today our Board of Directors will sign the dissolution paperwork for Pay-It-Forward House, "closing the door" on 20 years of this community-supported organization. I know we've all been honored to be a part of this amazing organization and are sad to see it come to an end. Let's keep it alive by remembering to 'pay it forward' as often as possible.

Happy Founder's Day to us! It's officially our 20th anniversary today. Twenty years ago, we opened our doors, and over 23,660 nights of rest later, we are about to say good-bye to our likely last guests, who are heading home to Oklahoma tomorrow. We officially stop providing rooms on March 31st. It's been a beautiful 20 years of supporting strangers.
Thank you to our founders, MaryLou & Phil Eubanks and Joyce Mathey, and for everyone who has ever supported us in any way!

Thank you to everyone who joined us Tuesday night to celebrate 20 years of healthcare hospitality in DeKalb County. It was a bittersweet evening, knowing it would be the last time we'd be hosting a community event as we wind down our services. We appreciated seeing so many familiar faces supporting us one last time. Thank you all for 20 years of community support!

This is not just our 20th anniversary celebration; it's also our farewell. Pay-It-Forward House will unfortunately be closing our doors soon, in response to losing our primary partner hospital, Kindred-Sycamore.
Please stop by between 4:30-7:30 and say goodbye and allow us to say THANK YOU for 20 years of support! We'll share light food and drinks, plenty of joy, and maybe a few tears.

We hope you all had a wonderful week of celebrating and being with the ones you love. As we head into the new year, Pay-It-Forward House continues to operate in limbo, not knowing what the future holds. Most importantly, we continue to operate and provide a safe place for our guests to rest their heads while they or their family members receive medical treatment. We will continue to update you as we know more, but for now, it is enough to continue our mission.

The holiday season is typically the busiest time of year for non-profits. It's the season of generosity, and non-profits only exist thanks to generosity. GivingTuesday is the perfect day to choose some of your favorite organizations and donate, volunteer, or even just spread the word about them to others. While our own fundraising is suspended while our board waits for more information to make some decisions, we hope you'll find a way to share some love with other deserving organizations today!
