Hey Team! July 10, 2026

God has given me an ephiphany since October 2023. Having been vanquished from Russia and India, the places I had poured my life into for many years, I realize that I have been living off the wrong premise all my life. I always thought that if I worked hard, studied thoroughly, planned carefully, practiced constantly, and executed strategically, I could count on the outcome. Well, in fact, I thought that I could dictate the outcome based on my effort. In ministry, we call this being “outcome-based.” For me, this has been exposed as a fallacy. I am not and cannot be “outcome-based” in my expectations. Then what? I am simply to be “obedience-based.” This means that I only do the next thing that God sets before me. Yes, I do with the same careful, strategic effort, but with the awareness that only God can be “outcome-based.”

So, I walk away from Russia and I walk away from India, but I don’t walk away from Russians nor do I walk away from Indians. And Yes, I walk into Nepal and there meet Indians along with Nepalis, Bangladeshis, and Pakistanis … Now, in August, I will walk into Mongolia again and meet with Mongolians, Russians, and more. In every place, I seek to deliver in God’s anointing, but I cannot determine the outcome. That is God’s domain. I am only “obedience-based.” Most likely, I will not really know how I (we) did until we stand before Jesus face to face. Having grown up in the farmlands of NE Texas, I know that I am just a field-hand, a servant (doulos), no more.

With this theological and philosophical understanding, on August 6, I leave for Mongolia. There, I will meet with 10 long-time Russian brothers and maybe 30-60 Mongolians. I will teach through the Gospel of Mark using my Inductive understanding of the Gospel which has been translated into Russian and Mongolian (52 English pages) during the first week. My premise is that whatever else we give the leaders in a nation, the churches they plant will not endure without a proper foundation on God’s Word. This will be a document which each pastor can teach in his own churches and teach to other pastors in his sphere of influence and apply in his geographical region. May God guide the outcome to have a multiplying-impact!

The second week, I will spend hopefully in other regions of Mongolia. There are 21 provinces (states) in Mongolia with a total area about the size of Alaska and only 3.2 million population. The total United States is six times the size of Mongolia which has only 1% of the US population which is 337 million. Pastors in Ulaanbaatar which is the capital of Mongolia estmate that there are 400 churches in their nation. Most are very small. To compare, there are 2,182 churches and Christian organizations in Jacksonville, Florida whose population is a little over 1 million. Total Christians in Mongolia are about 1% and 52% Budhist. Please pray that God will enable His church to go after those whom He has prepared to receive the gospel. This is what He seems to have laid on me to say. The Gospel of Mark measures what Jesus and the 12 did in Galilee. I will spend a good portion of time developing what this looked like in Galilee and what it might look like in Mongolia or the Russian republics (states) beyond the northern border of Mongolia and Uzbekistan and all the -Stan nations to the west and China to the south and east.

So, what I am asking of you is intercession – much prayer. When lots of prayer covers God’s purposes, it brings the power and will of heaven to earth. When there is little prayer, there is little done. But I know you pray. How I know this is what God has done over the last 11 years in particular. The greatest work is in the next year and half. Beyond this, I do not yet see.

Thank you that with your generous hearts and our “mustard seed” faith, mountains continue to move.

Aug. 6 – depart (Thursday)
Aug 8 – arrive in Ulaanbaatar in morning Mongolian time (12 hours ahead EDT); day of rest
Aug 9 – Sunday so probably speak in church in capital city, Ulaanbaatar;
Meet with Mongolian and Russian leaders
Aug 10 – 3 hour train ride to village where we will meet in a remote area;
10 Russian guys and 30+ Mongolians and maybe at least 1 Uzbeki
Aug. 11-15 Bible Time in Mark; “What God wants in Mongolia!”
Aug 16 – Sunday
Aug 17-19 – time in Mongolia yet to be defined
Aug 19 – back to Ulaanbaatar to prepare departure
Aug 20 – Long Journey back to USA

Today is Saturday, the Holy Day for Nepal, so most churches worship on Saturday. I did speak four times with
only two different messages. It has been good to connect today with Pastor Manik. He has a national heart
for Nepal and for the capital city of Kathmandu. Tomorrow, we head outside the city with a five-hour drive.
There will be meetings with pastors the next three days and then back to Kathmandu on 15th for flight on
April 16.

Please keep praying. These are times of learning the state of church planting in this ancient nation.

Wes is really pumped about this group. He says he's seeing the fruit of years of relationship and teaching. The group is so excited about the content of Romans and the men are already planning to teach it in all four nations represented in these meetings. Praise God!

Prayer requests from Wes

Good relations with all the new guys and a real unity across the nations and Indian regions. We have a large swath of SE Asia geography covered. Pray I will be clear and know the best way to explain Romans paragraph by paragraph. That they will get it and multiply it as they go back. That they will be challenged to translate the English text of the Ideas of the NT into about 6-7 languages to be used here in SE Asia.

When a Job is Once Begun … ​​​​​​​​​November 10, 2025

Guy, Pastor and Bishop, from Ivanovo, Russia walked in yesterday with a bag into which he reached. “Wes” he said, “I have a surprise for you.” Out of the bag, he pulled the Russian translation of the entire New Testament Ideas that I had done in English during the years 2016-2018. It had taken Larissa in Voronezh almost seven years to finalize the last translation of all 27 New Testament books as well as three chapters in Book I and one more chapter in Book II for a total of 31 chapters. I don’t know what I thought in that moment. It was more emotion than thought. Actually the image in my mind was the relentless hours sitting at my desk, thinking, praying, typing and Larissa with her predawn coffee at her computer as she turned my English into beautiful Russian. I was compelled to do this because God wanted it done. But that was only the English version – something over 700 full pages. Bev was persistent in saying, “publish it in English.” The value of the books lay in the fact that there is nothing of this sort on the theological market. It was designed for pastors and teachers to guide through whole book studies with accuracy in their interpretations. I told Bev repeatedly that I wrote it first for Russians and so it is done now. Maybe we will look at publishing in English.

Guy Landrie is the dearest of brothers. We have traveled tens of thousands of miles together. He has embraced the vision for Russia and how to use the books to produce solid Biblical messages. At times we joke in the irony that God brought together a Camerooni and American to bring salvation to Russia. Guy has lived in Russia for 30 years and is more Russian than Camerooni now. In the end of the matter, these books exist because Guy believed in them fully and uses them for messages he teaches and preaches. We have produced 400 copies to distribute in Russia. The cost is about $15 a volume or $30 for both books. I do not know Guy’s plan to distribute but I told him that he must not only give out the books but he must train people in how to use the book to develop messages.
We then turned our talk to 2026. We hold the possibility of a trip to Armenia in March. We would be within sight of amazing Mt. Ararat (on which Noah’s Ark descended after the flood.) It is possible that some pastors and teachers from Iran will slip into Armenia for training before going back to plant churches. Please pray that God would be in this. It is so compelling to me personally.

I had written Tuvshin and Prof. Jack of Mongolia to encourage them to give me dates and goals for the training in Mongolia. It seems that June-July timeframe. They have the idea of training Mongolians and perhaps even some Mongolians who would come from China and some from the Buryati Republic in Russia (these folks are from Mongolian descent). Also, there is a plan to bring leaders from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, etc. for training. The Mongolians have formed a National Team called the National Center to direct future plans. There are a lot of details yet to be worked out.

At the present, Guy has exhorted me to work on the Old Testament interpretations. This is a very large undertaking. Pray God might extend my life if this is to be completed J.

As this year concludes, Bev and I have some uncertainty on her future – as to whether to retire from the school board or to go one last term. At some point, it will be the last. So, I keep going as long as God keeps doors open. I sense that the time is short. We must redeem each day to maximum usage.
