Miracles In Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Ctr.

Miracles In Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Ctr. We use horses to effectively work with adults & children with disabilities or complex medical conditions and veterans.

In our 33rd year of operation, Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center uses horses to work effectively with adults and children who, due to disabilities or complex medical conditions, need assistance in developing the kinds of everyday skills that allow them to function more independently at home, school, or work. We offer various options for people with physical, motor, social, or cognit

ive disabilities, including therapeutic riding classes, Hippotherapy sessions, ground work programs, or a combination of these experiences to aid in rehabilitation, therapy routines, and strengthening.

⭐️ Miracles Moment: Nichole Mahan ⭐️

I’ve loved horses since I was little and had two of my own growing up. What brought me to Miracles in Motion was my love for horses and being able to support the kids with disabilities. I’ve bonded with a couple horses and really love being around them. I decided to start volunteering to get back into being around horses since I graduated from Kirkwood. I graduated with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Horse Science.

Volunteering has impacted me by getting me back around horses, and it makes me so happy to help the kids. I love seeing the smile on their faces and hearing how happy they are to be riding a horse. I work with adults with disabilities and love doing that, and now helping kids with disabilities is as rewarding.

We are writing to share the news of the passing of Diamond, a horse who truly embodied strength, resilience, and lasting commitment. At 30 years young, Diamond leaves behind a remarkable legacy at Miracles in Motion.

Before joining us 16 years ago through the generosity of Heather Oppenheimer, Diamond was an accomplished athlete in barrel racing and pole bending. During his time here, he touched the lives of hundreds of students and clients, serving as a gifted partner in Adaptive Riding, Hippotherapy, and groundwork. With his gentle demeanor and kind, softening eyes, Diamond had a unique ability to connect with everyone he met.

One of our therapists, Ansley, shared: “He was truly such an amazing horse and had a presence that was so special to everyone who had the chance to work with him. Diamond left such a meaningful legacy, touching the lives of so many kids, families, and staff. He wasn’t just a horse; he was a steady partner and a source of confidence.”

While the hardest part of loving a horse is letting him go, we take comfort in knowing that the great ones never truly leave us. Diamond gave his all every day, and his spirit will continue to ride in our hearts.

We are forever grateful for the time we had with him.
