Only Ellen would find the cocktail bombs headband in the bottle auction she bid on! LOL! She did end up with several super nice non-alcoholic gifts though!

Thanks to everyone who brought items for the THIRD annual bottle auction. Your creativity with this event was astounding! Vana Violet worked the room like a pro and the auctioneer did her best to keep up with the bids. The $$ amount raised will be revealed soon.

Another successful Garden Club dinner put on by the International Committee and AWC volunteers! The Garden Club attendees loved the meal and are already looking forward to next year. This year was a Cinco de Maya theme. The menu included chicken enchiladas, Cajun shrimp and salmon, Mexican bean salad and carrots. Deserts were delicious as well. Thanks to all the helpers who cooked, served and cleaned. Couldn’t have done it without you!

Amherst County Day at SBC was a success for the AWC! The Human Slot Machine was a BIG HIT and we gave away all of the stuffies that were donated and quite a few animal toys too! Thanks goes out to Angela S for such a creative and fun way to entertain our guests! (You may be seeing the Slot Machine in person at the April Meeting!)

As for the the books we gave away—amazing! Lots of them found new reading buddies as you can see from a pile of empty boxes (and some boxes and bags were even reused to carry away books for new readers). The SBC students especially loved all the options and took quite a few.

Each volunteer no matter their job, put their heart and soul into our activities! Thank you all for a job well done!
