🎉 LACEY HAS A HOME! 🎉
Y’all — sometimes the best adoption stories happen when you’re not even looking. Colton, one of the AC technicians who has been installing the HVAC at our brand new BAAB shelter. He walked in, met Lacey… and that was it. He fell in love, and Lacey found her person.
She is the sweetest heart in the barn — truly one of the best dogs we’ve ever known. And now she gets to steal Colton’s heart every single day. 💙
That’s 2 down, 6 to go from the Sweeny Pound rescue group. Keep sharing, keep tagging, keep believing — every one of these dogs has a Colton out there somewhere.
Huge thank you to Sweeny Pound and to everyone helping us get these babies home. 🐾

🏆 BAAB HERO AWARDS 🏆
We are closer to getting these animals in the shelter they deserve — and today we want to recognize two community heroes who made it happen:
🐾 John Finch of Finch Water Well Services — who DONATED the drilling of our new well
🐾 PJ Services — who DONATED the pump and all the equipment
Not discounted. Not at cost. Donated. Every bit of it.
Because of their generosity, every rescue that walks through our doors will have fresh, clean water waiting for them. That is not just plumbing — that is dignity, comfort, and care for animals who have not always had it.
To John and to the team at PJ Services — thank you for showing up for our shelter, our animals, and our community. You are the reason we are getting closer.

🐾 PET OF THE WEEK: LACEY! 🐾

Y’all… when I tell you Lacey is my favorite, I mean she is MY FAVORITE. 💛

Every time I get out to the shelter, I may or may not sneak this girl two treats instead of one. 🤫😂 I can’t help it. She has absolutely stolen my heart.

Lacey is one of those dogs you meet and immediately wonder how in the world she hasn’t been adopted yet. She is incredibly sweet, loving, loyal, and just wants to be close to her people.

The other day, my husband was sitting in his truck and Lacey literally tried to climb right into his lap, looking at him with those puppy-dog eyes like, “Sir… I just want to cuddle.” 🥹❤️

She doesn’t want anything complicated. She wants a person. A couch. Some love. And apparently access to your lap whether she fits there or not.

LACEY’S ADOPTION IS FREE! 🎉

She is truly an amazing girl, and I want so badly to see her walk out of that shelter with someone who will love her as much as she deserves.

Please share Lacey. Her person is out there. Let’s find them. 🐾💛

Benji's Animal Adoption Barn — because love has no price tag. 💛

At Benji's Animal Adoption Barn, every single dog goes home free. Always. 💛

We get asked about this a lot — so here's the heart of it: in our eyes, love doesn't come with a price tag. A family member shouldn't either.

When you adopt from BAAB, your new best friend leaves with us having already covered:

🐾 Spay or neuter
🐾 Microchip
🐾 Heartworm prevention
🐾 Vaccinations
🐾 Any medical care they needed while in our care

That's not a discount. That's zero dollars. Because we believe the right family shouldn't be priced out of the right dog.

So how do we do it? You. Our community. Every fundraiser we hold, every Amazon wish-list order, every $10 and $10,000 donation, every volunteer hour on the property — that's what makes free adoptions possible. BAAB absorbs the cost so families don't have to, and our supporters make sure BAAB can keep saying yes.

If you've ever chipped in, shown up on a workday, shared a post, or dropped supplies at the barn — this is what your generosity built. A place where a dog waiting for a home isn't waiting behind a fee.

Ready to meet your family member? Come see us. The dogs are ready. And the adoption fee is on us.

Meet Socks.
Socks wasn’t “a bad dog”—he was a good dog suffering from serious kennel stress. The shelter environment was overwhelming, and euthanasia was being discussed as a possible outcome. He needed calm, structure, and a chance, not a countdown.
Benji’s Animal Adoption Barn (BAAB) stepped in because we believe second chances matter, especially for dogs who are shut down or misunderstood. We partnered with CJ’s Dog Training so Socks could get out of the kennel, into a training program, and finally learn in a safe, supportive environment.
And he has absolutely blossomed:
• Monday he learned to sit.
• Tuesday he learned to walk off leash.
• Today he has learned to stay.
He is such a smart, sweet boy.
Now Socks is:
• Neutered
• Vaccinated
• Microchipped
• Professionally TRAINED
Please don’t let him go back to the shelter after training. Kennel life is what was hurting him in the first place. He needs a family, a home, and a real chance.
Socks is FREE and ready for his forever family—someone who will keep building on his training, give him routine and love, and make sure he never has to face that kind of stress again.
If you can be that family, or know someone who can, please reach out. Sharing his story is one more way to keep him from ever going back to a kennel and instead move him into the home he truly deserves.
