Meeting update for 6/15/2020

1. Final financial report was given for the 2019-2020 school year
2. Discussion was had on trailer shelves and trailer build out. Bids forthcoming from Mrs. Loggins for next meeting. Discussion on props for the 20-21 Marching season has been tabled @ this time.
3. New elected executive board is as follows President- Jovita Ortiz
Vice President- Stacy McMullin
Secretary- Karen Hall
Treasurer- Amanda Jones
Co Treasurer- Janena Norris
Parliamentarian- Diane East

ANNOUNCEMENT!!
The Sweeny Band Parent Organization will be holding the last General Meeting for 2019-2020 on Monday, June 15, 2020 in Watts Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Sweeny at 6pm.
Please plan to attend as we will be holding the Elections for 2020-2021 Board positions.
We look forward to seeing you all there!!

Good morning Band Parents!! We are extending the deadline for Board position nominations to Friday, June 12th!! Please consider taking a seat on the board.

Positions available are as follows...

President
Vice President
Secretary
Co-Treasurer
Parliamentarian

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions regarding these positions.

Additionally, it has been brought to our attention that there may be some confusion as to how the nominations work. If you would like to be considered for a position on the board come election time, you can put your own name in on the Google form (this is the preferred method, so that we know that you have carefully considered the time that it will take to be a part of the board) or you can have someone else nominate you (we will still need you to fill out the form so we have some contact information for you).

All Band parents should have received an email from Mrs. Loggins last night with more information about the Booster organization and also with a video attached. The video is of the current Executive Board explaining their job duties and experiences on the board. If you have an interest of holding a position but just are not sure, please check out the video from the email. If you did not get the email, email us at [email protected] and we will make sure that you receive a copy and answer any questions you may have. Nomination deadline is Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the end of the day. We would love to welcome you as part of the team!

Did you know that Band Boosters helps to pay for some of the after school meals for our band members? That's just one of the many things Band Boosters do but we can't do that without your help!

It's that time of year, where we usher in a Brand New Board. This year, the pandemic has us behind on nominations and elections. It is time to start thinking about the new school year and the next booster board and the direction Band Boosters needs to go to accomplish all its goals. The positions needing to be filled are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Co-Treasurer, and Parliamentarian. If you are interested on being on the Band Booster Board for the 20-21 School Year, please notify us by email at [email protected]. We can give you a description of the positions and fill out nomination paperwork for position you are interested in. All nominations are due by June 10, 2020. We will be having a General meeting at 6pm on June 8, 2020 via Zoom to further discuss nominations. If you are interested please plan to attend. Elections will be June 15, 2020 at 6pm.
