Hey dancers, Natalie Hass, Celtic/Scottish cellist extraordinaire is playing a concert with her sister on October 25th at the Park Avenue Community Center. A chance to support the community center and bliss out to superlative music

A big thanks to our growing community for showing up to dance last night! It was such a delight to have two lines of contra dancers, to welcome new and returning Swarthmore students and surrounding community members, to have High Strung play for us for the first time, and to have Alex Burka calling for us again. An extra big thank you to 🌟Alex🌟 for taking this video and sharing it with Stephanie, because her video didn't save 🤦‍♀️

Our thanks to many people for a great evening; it was particularly delightful to see so many new people from the community and a few from the college! We love spreading the joy of contra dancing and hope to see many of you again on September 22nd. Special thanks to Eve for tabling, to the Mohrs for anchoring our By-Ear Open Band, to Christie for coming out to call for us for the first time, and to Sara for helping take some of these pictures!

It's been a minute, and we're so happy to have been back to dancing this week after our last dance had to be canceled. We were thrilled to welcome new friends and old friends, with one of the best impromptu lines of the night from a newly-returned dancer: "I can't believe I almost forgot how fun this is!" Thank you so much to Liesl and our ROCKING By-Ear Open Band for a wonderful night! And thank you to Jenny for surprise ice cream to celebrate her own birthday! 🍨🎊⭐️🎈

We wanted to share some highlights of this week's dance—in addition to a touching birthday celebration (with BROWNIES AND ICE CREAM courtesy of Jenny), we were delighted to see Jeremy for the evening. The By-Ear Open Band continues to give us satisfying takes on favorite tunes, with fun opportunities for solos (shout-out to Evan!), and Alex continues to pick dances that flow beautifully for us on his nights to call 💃

Reminder that our fourth Tuesday dance is CANCELLED this month due to a pre-existing event at the Park Avenue Community Center. See you in August!
