Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Swansboro, NC

10/03/2026

Two weeks ago, our 6th Annual T2T Swansboro 5K Run/Walk brought our community together once again for a beautiful day of community & patriotism.

🇺🇸 We are PROUD of our little town’s big impact and GRATEFUL to everyone who has helped us extend a great big T2T Swansboro “HUG” to HEROES and their families over these six years…nearly 4,500 strong!

🇺🇸 We are especially THANKFUL to our 2026 SPONSORS and in-kind partners who feed, photograph, time, supply and entertain us.

EVERY volunteer, participant, donation and sponsorship makes a difference for the Hero families we serve…here at home and across the country.

WE APPRECIATE YOU ALL! ❤️🤍💙

Wrapping up a long week of event cleanup & medal distribution between our T2T Swansboro 5K Run/Walk and a quick trip to New York for the amazing 2026 Tunnel to Towers NYC 5K Run & Walk Weekend. Will catch up on posts soon…thank yous, sponsor shoutouts, pictures and a NY wrap-up. In the meantime, checkout this awesome video our new T2T friend & sponsor, the talented Martin Lising produced for us through his Coral Visuals. We very much appreciate Martin’s stepping in last-minute to capture our day so beautifully! 🇺🇸

THANK YOU for showing up Saturday and making our 6th Annual T2T Swansboro 5K Run/Walk so special. 🇺🇸

UPDATE: The finisher medals have arrived! 🏅 Spread the word!

If you crossed the finish line expecting a medal, I’m sorry it wasn’t there Saturday morning. We know it was disappointing, and we know your medal represents much more than a piece of metal. It represents showing up, finishing what you started & honoring our heroes. 🇺🇸

I’m also sorry for the extra hassle of making a separate trip or coordinating another way to get your medal. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this right…

🏅 MEDAL PICKUP STATION
📍 Swansboro Rec Center
🗓️ Mon–Fri 9–5 | Sat 8-12 ** hours subject to change acc to staffing
✏️ Find your name, check it off & take your medal — honor system. 😇
🤝 Picking up for a friend, neighbor or teammate? Even better!

Can’t make it there? Text, call or email me. 📲 If you see me at soccer, lacrosse, dance, Walmart or around the neighborhood, I gotcha! I’ll be driving around with a box of medals in my car for the foreseeable future… 😉

In the meantime, we’ll work on improving timing and delivery details for next year. We appreciate the grace you always show our volunteer team. 💙

📣 NEXT year’s 5K will be Sat 9/11 🇺🇸

🏅 The finisher medals are now scheduled for delivery TUESDAY…😏Will update with p/u options ASAP!

The weather may have kept some of our expected Marine Corps program support from joining us yesterday, but it sure didn’t keep our participants & community away! 🇺🇸❤️

Beautiful seeing everyone gathered for our 6th Annual T2T Swansboro 5K Run/Walk. 🇺🇸

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who ran, walked, cheered, sponsored, donated, volunteered and supported this event…and to our military members, veterans, first responders, community partners and businesses who continue to stand behind our mission year after year.

An EXTRA special thank you to our incredible VOLUNTEERS! You gave your time, energy, talents..and a whole lot of heart..to make yesterday happen. We simply could not do this without you! ❤️

Many more thank-yous to give and pictures/videos to share once we gather them all…

For now, our friend, Peter W Rulon, captured this cool view of yesterday’s 5K start — our community coming together to REMEMBER, HONOR & DO GOOD.
