📢 : Renew NC is now offering a FREE online prescreening opportunity to help eligible applicants prepare for the upcoming Multi-Family Construction and Repair (MCR) Program for non-LIHTC projects. ⤵️

The MCR Program — Renew NC's fourth disaster recovery program — will support the rehabilitation, development, and construction of multi-family rental properties with five or more units in Hurricane Helene-impacted areas of western North Carolina.

Eligible applicants include for-profit and nonprofit developers, public housing authorities, local governments, and joint ventures between these entities.

A prescreen can help determine whether your proposed Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) project:

✅ Aligns with federal requirements
✅ Demonstrates a tie-back to Hurricane Helene
✅ Meets funding eligibility requirements

Every Tuesday from 3–4:30 pm, we host our Share Market, a space for community nourishment, connection, and fresh produce grown right here at Root Cause Farm. We're so grateful to our friends at Bounty & Soul for their continued partnership; they supplement what we have to offer, ensuring that we have a plentiful variety throughout the ebbs and flows of our growing season.

These markets provide fresh produce at no cost to people experiencing food insecurity. If you or someone you know could use fresh vegetables and farm-grown goodness, we’d love to welcome you.

La oficina de correos de Swannanoa volverá a abrir en el antiguo local de Family Dollar.

The Swannanoa Post Office Has Found a New Home!

It's official, folks! The months of speculation are over - the Swannanoa Post Office will relocate to the old Family Dollar store building on US 70. No timeline yet, but they're working on the design and build-out now. A special shout-out to Swannanoa resident Dan Slagle for his tireless advocacy efforts to bring our post office back to Swannanoa.

Here's the latest from the USPS:

The Postal Service has entered into a long-term lease for the building and property at 2230 US-70 HWY, Swannanoa, NC 28778 for the new Swannanoa Main Post Office. The project is currently in the design and construction process. We will provide an estimated construction timeline when available. We are excited about the new location and reestablishing retail services to the Swannanoa community.
