We’re so proud to congratulate Girl Scout Gold Award recipient Shannon Kress on the completion of her incredible StoryWalk along the Brushy Creek Greenway behind PlayTown Suwanee!

This interactive trail invites families to read a story as they walk—bringing together literacy, outdoor activity, and a little bit of magic at every turn. It’s a meaningful addition to our community, and we’re honored that the Kiwanis Club of Suwanee could help support this project alongside other great partners.

Shannon’s dedication—spending over 100 hours planning and leading this effort—reflects the very best of service and leadership.

The Suwanee community is lucky to have such a thoughtful and lasting installation, and we hope it inspires a love of reading for years to come.

We’re proud to share that the Suwanee Kiwanis Club helped sponsor a new reading station along the StoryWalk on Brushy Creek Trail, a project that brings together literacy, the outdoors, and community in such a meaningful way.

This StoryWalk, created as a Girl Scout Gold Award Project by Shannon Kress, invites families to enjoy pages from children’s books as they stroll the trail behind PlayTown. It’s a simple but powerful way to encourage a love of reading while getting outside together.

Join for the ribbon cutting on Sunday, April 26 at 1 pm, located behind PlayTown Suwanee. We’ll celebrate this special project with a short ceremony and refreshments!

We’re honored to support initiatives like this, one that invests in young people and creates spaces where families can learn, grow, and connect.
