Artist Spotlight: “Wildflower Meadow” by Lynn Daniels

🌼 Lynn Daniels received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Penn State University and has shown her work in galleries across Pennsylvania and Georgia. Several of her pieces are held in private collections, and her painting Wildflower Meadow was recently part of the Art of Georgia exhibit on display in the Governor’s Mansion. Her practice often centers on personal meaning, memory, and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments.

🌿 “Wildflower Meadow” is a rare landscape for Lynn, created from a photo she took while walking through the wildflower meadow at Gibbs Gardens. She was drawn to the color, depth, light, and shadow of the scene and wanted to capture the feeling of being surrounded by that natural beauty. Lynn typically works from photographs that hold personal significance, whether they are family images or photos she has taken herself, and this piece reflects that connection.

🎨 The painting carries her signature attention to detail and sensitivity to atmosphere, allowing the viewer to step into the moment she experienced. It is both a study of nature and an expression of the emotional resonance that certain places hold.

Artist Spotlight: “Lightly Blue” by Annie Oh

🎨 Annie Oh is a painter based in Georgia whose work explores flowers and plants as emotional forms rather than literal botanical studies. After studying fine art and spending more than a decade as a jewelry designer in New York, she returned to painting to develop a more personal visual language. Her pieces balance simplified shapes, bold colors, and patterned surfaces, creating a quiet tension between structure and spontaneity. Annie builds intuitive yet composed spaces where color and form hold emotional weight, reflecting her belief that feelings can be communicated through visual rhythm beyond the limits of language.

🌿 “Lightly Blue” was inspired by the idea of hiding heavy or complicated emotions behind playful everyday objects. The blue leaves represent quiet low emotions, while the popcorn container adds humor and lightness. Annie enjoys pairing elements that do not naturally belong together and finding unexpected harmony between them. The popcorn container becomes almost like a mask for emotion, playful on the surface but holding deeper feelings underneath.

🎨 This piece was created with acrylic paint on canvas using layered brushwork and simplified shapes. Annie focused on balancing soft blue tones with bright contrasting colors to create both calmness and tension. The result is a work that feels gentle yet emotionally charged, inviting viewers to sense the story beneath the surface.

Artist Spotlight: “Snow White” by Lydia Joe

🎨 Lydia Joe is an illustrator who graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2025 with a BFA in Illustration. Her work is filled with fairy tale and fantasy influences, brought to life through vibrant color and imaginative storytelling. She loves working traditionally with watercolors and digitally on her iPad using Procreate, moving easily between both worlds to create rich and expressive imagery.

❄️ “Snow White” reflects Lydia’s lifelong love of fairy tales. She has always wanted to reinterpret classic characters in a way that feels meaningful and personal. For Snow White, she focused on the character’s gentle and sweet nature, capturing her in a moment of joy within a cold and quiet environment. The softness, warmth, and emotional clarity of the piece highlight Lydia’s ability to blend narrative and atmosphere in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

🖌️ The artwork was painted digitally in Procreate and printed on canvas, allowing the colors and textures to take on a physical presence while still retaining the delicacy of digital brushwork. It is a piece that celebrates imagination, reinterpretation, and the timeless pull of classic stories.
