The Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association, Inc., is a divisional society of the American Osteopathic Association. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and is divided into four geographical districts*. It is comprised of osteopathic physicians who hold the DO degree and others as provided for in the association Bylaws. MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the association is to promote the public he
alth while promoting the art, science and philosophy of osteopathic medicine. The association strives to elevate and maintain the highest standards of practice of the profession as well as the development of quality educational programs for its members. The association seeks to promote research, investigation and the utilization of the philosophy and application of osteopathic diagnosis and therapy in the practice of medicine. The association seeks to provide for the needs of its members by continually updating membership services in the area of medical education, information, governmental relations, increased awareness of the profession and the DO degree, physician recruitment, practice management and appropriate representation in the medical community. The association is a divisional society of the American Osteopathic Association and adheres to the policies and principles of the AOA.
