Prayer over our new Laboratory.

Nobody asked them to come.

No announcement. No invitation. No program.
A prayer group of women from our community in Cité Soleil simply showed up to our new laboratory and prayed. Over every room. Over every vehicle. Over every wall of Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine.

And this is not the first time. It has been happening for years, especially since our first evacuation on November 15, 2023.

34 years of showing up for a community, and this is what it looks like in return.

You know how they say mama’s and grandma’s prayers keep us safe? We’re adding the local churches to that list. These women give us all
the quiet reassurance that within God’s will, all will be well inside these walls, and to and from work.

We like to say: “Si m soti fò m antre.” If I leave home, I’m making it back.

We build medical facilities. We train staff. We secure partnerships. And the community prays over all of it, without being asked.

That is the covenant. 🙏🏾

April 1, 2026
400 families. One distribution.

People love to dismiss distributions. But in Cité Soleil, where emergencies are not the exception but the daily reality, a food distribution is a lifeline, not a handout.

The distribution, though no money was exchanged, was not free. They came with babies on their hips. They missed a day of work they could not afford to miss. They made the trip there and back through a city where chronic violence has closed most doors to earning a living. Before a single bag was lifted, they had already paid.

We are grateful to FFTP Haiti and Mr. Nicoleau for making this possible despite real constraints, and to WFP / PAM Haiti for their commitment to the most vulnerable among us.

Sustainable food security is still the goal. Always. But on April 1, 2026, 400 people ate. And that was enough. 🙏🏾

Thank you and Haiti

Access to oxygen shouldn’t depend on your ability to pay.

At CHF, most patients can’t afford oxygen cylinders. We’ve never turned anyone away because of it.

Our team navigates gang controlled territories to keep oxygen flowing. They’ve rolled cylinders over barricades. Strapped tanks to motorcycles when cars couldn’t pass. Made runs during gunfire because someone’s child needed to breathe.

We spend $2,500 monthly on oxygen. Most of that cost we absorb so families don’t have to choose between breathing and eating.

Last year, Gaz Industriel donated 100 free refills. That support kept patients alive when we couldn’t have done it alone.

Every donation helps us cover these costs. Watch our team’s struggle for oxygen in the Al Jazeera documentary on our main page. Donate through the link in bio to help us keep oxygen accessible to everyone who needs it.

Because in our hospital, your life doesn’t depend on what’s in your wallet.

2 years ago when we wrote those words you all moved heaven and earth to help us evacuate the hospital.
🆘🆘🆘🆘
Today, the SOS is for a 6-year-old baby girl who needs a brain surgery YESTERWEEK.

The two hospitals who could handle Post-Op have been vandalized. The 3 neurosurgeons we have left in the country cannot risk performing it because there are no hospitals capable of handling Post-Op ICU.

CHF has neither the equipment nor highly qualified staff for post - op PICU.

Looking internationally was our last resort.

Please read and point us to the right direction to someone who has the final YES/NO to speed up the process.

Thank you.

She’s 6. She’s 6. She’s 6, about the age of our own children and grandchildren. She’s an only child. She’s loved.

She needs our collective effort to get her help

Thank you.

Kareen Ulysse.

100,000+ views.

I , , am deeply grateful to everyone who has watched and shared Al Jazeera Witness: Healing Haiti’s Children. Too often, stories of crisis dominate viewership, but you proved that narratives of hope, resilience, and community can rise above.

By engaging with this film, you are the heroes showing news outlets and funders that the world is ready for a shift. Trauma does not have to be the only story. Healing can be just as powerful.
If this story moved you, I invite you to take the next step:

💡 Give $25 (a dollar for every minute of the film) as a one-time gift, or become a recurring donor for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.

We're overwhelmed with demand that surpasses our capacity to respond. Whether dodging stray bullets crossing gang territories or navigating police responses to gang activity, our entire CHF team - from founders to housekeeping - keeps showing up.Huge thanks to Sky News Chief Correspondent Stuart Ramsay for traveling to Port-au-Prince to document our work firsthand. At Fontaine Hospital, we believe in being physically present to truly understand the challenges our community faces every day. (Full story link in comments) As the only hospital operating in this gang-controlled area of Port-au-Prince, we continue treating cholera outbreaks, fighting childhood malnutrition, and providing critical protection and care when families have nowhere else to turn. This is what hope looks like when communities come together during the hardest times. With your support and our commitment on the ground, we're proving that healing is possible even in the most challenging circumstances. Every donation helps us continue this vital work. Grateful for today’s visits and meaningful conversations.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Oscar M. Barreneche and Chantal Calvel of WHO/PAHO (OPS/OMS), as well as Stanley R Abellard , renowned for his dedication to security services and as a celebrated figure in Haitian martial arts.

Every visit, especially in this context matters.

Every step through our halls is a chance to witness what’s often unseen online—the daily work, the commitment, the impact.

Every visit comes with conversations that open doors to deeper partnerships.

Every visit helps shift the narrative about Cité-Soleil—from one of despair to one of resilience, hope, and action. Action that they are a part of.

Thank you for seeing us, supporting us, and walking with us.

God bless Haiti

Empowering patients through lab results is transformative.

In Haiti, where medical follow-ups can be challenging, knowing your health status is crucial.

With lab results in hand, patients can confidently seek care, whether in person or via telehealth. Knowledge is power!
