We can’t believe it, but summertime is wrapping up in Northern Michigan! 🌅

Our summertime programming ended on a high note with our middle schoolers traveling to Mackinac Island and our high schoolers heading down to Michigan’s Adventure. ☀️🎢

LIFT staff took a much deserved break last week and we’re already turning our attention to the school year! Open houses are happening, the first day of school is in sight, and we can’t wait to get back into our classrooms for another awesome year.

Thank you to all of the incredible partners, volunteers, and supporters who made our summer program such a success! Here are a few shots of LIFTers visiting our friends over at Farmer Foot Drums, one amazing example of the opportunities our community provided to t(w)tens these last few months. 🥁

Our Middle School LIFTers are back from their big end-of-summer adventure! 🐎🍫🌊 We brought 20 students from all four public Leelanau County schools to Mackinac Island this week! It included everything from an overnight stay in St. Ignace, a visit to Michilimackinac, pizza and ice cream, and a bike trip around the island. These are just some of our favorite pictures. ☺️

We want to give a special shout out to Lisa Siddall and TJ Shimek - Team Shimek for helping to sponsor this trip! This experience would not have been possible without their support. 💚

Here’s another awesome Interlochen performance in the books for LIFT students this summer! 🎭🗽 High schoolers from Glen Lake, Northport, and Suttons Bay saw West Side Story on Thursday night. Some key takeaways: prejudice and blind loyalty can lead to some tragic choices, but empathy and kindness can change everything! 💚

Thank you so much to our friends up at North Farm for hosting another group of excited LIFTers! 🐷🐮☀️ The best part about LIFT’s summer program is that we get to be outside and explore all of the amazing farms, trails, beaches, landmarks, and businesses in our region! People travel thousands of miles to see what’s in our own backyard. How lucky are we?

Where is the summer going?! 😅💔 It’s hard to believe that there’s only one week left of LIFT’s summertime programming! We’ve had so much fun this summer playing tourist with Leelanau County’s incredible tweens and teens. Thank you to all the amazing supporters, partners, and volunteers who have made it all possible!
