Braxton County residents, we encourage you to consider becoming an Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash driver. Services like these enhance the experience of visiting rural areas like Braxton County by providing convenient, reliable transportation. Some of our visitors rely on ridesharing and food delivery and you can provide that service while enjoying flexible hours and extra income. While our focus is on the traveler experience, we are certain there are locals who could use these services as well.
We recently had a visitor from New England. She was staying in Charleston, alone, while visiting all over the state for a week-long trip. She took an Uber here. Even though a ride back down I-79 would have cost her $125(!!!) she couldn't find a ride on her ride share app. Eventually, a good Samaritan offered her a ride back to her lodging and all ended well. However, it just as easily could have ended much worse for her.
Please consider being a driver for these services and help to make her next visit far more easy and pleasurable, while putting a little (or a lot) of extra money in your pocket. Thank you!

I can always tell when our episode of America’s Got Aleins reruns in Hong Kong. That show has introduced Braxton County, West Virginia to many cantonese speaking people in Asia.
