This map isn't a prediction. It's today's reality.

California remains one of the hardest-hit states when it comes to wildfire, and this map shows the growing impact across the western United States. This isn't an isolated event or a distant problem. It's real and it demands preparation, vigilance, and a shared responsibility. These fires affect communities, ecosystems, infrastructure, and lives.

What are we willing to lose?

The better question is: What are we willing to do—together—to protect what matters most?

Wildfire resilience begins with all of us. As wildfire risk continues to increase, so must our commitment to prevention and preparedness. Every responsible action taken to reduce fire risk helps
strengthen the safety of the entire community.

Be proactive:
• Reduce fire hazards around your home and property.
• Have an evacuation plan and emergency kit ready.
• Stay informed about local fire conditions and alerts.
• Follow fire restrictions and practice wildfire prevention every day.
• Become a part of your local Fire Safe Council or Firewise Community.

Reminder: Residential Debris Burning in AEU Has Ended for the Season

As a reminder, effective today, CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit has suspended all burn permits for outdoor residential debris burning within the State Responsibility Areas (SRA) of Alpine, Amador, El Dorado, Sacramento, and San Joaquin counties. The suspension prohibits all residential debris burning of landscape materials such as branches and leaves.

Temporary Burn Suspension Alert: Due to forecasted fire weather conditions, including increased winds, CAL FIRE is temporarily suspending all outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Areas of Amador, El Dorado, Alpine, Sacramento, and San Joaquin counties beginning at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, through Friday, June 12.

We will continue to closely monitor conditions and will provide another update Friday afternoon regarding the status of burning for the remainder of the week and the season.

Temporary Burn Suspension Alert: Due to predicted windy activity and fuel conditions, CAL FIRE AEU is temporarily suspending all burning in Amador, El Dorado, Alpine, Sacramento, and San Joaquin State Responsibility Areas beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7. We’ll continue to monitor conditions and will provide an update for Monday once a decision has been made. Thank you for doing your part to help prevent wildfires during this period of heightened risk.
