The school year is winding down, backpacks are getting lighter, and summer adventures are right around the corner.

As we head into a new month, we're reminded that summer can mean something different for every family. For some, it's camping trips, BBQs, and days at the lake. For others, it can bring added challenges when school meals, routines, and resources aren't as readily available.

That's why community matters.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day isn’t just the start of summer in Douglas County - it’s a day of remembrance.

From quiet mornings at Ben Irving Reservoir to flags placed across our communities, today is about honoring the men and women who gave everything for this country.

As families gather, boats head out, grills fire up, and friends reconnect… we hope everyone also takes a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who served and sacrificed.
