It’s that time of year again! Did you know the Sussex Community Help Center has been helping their neighbors in the Borough and beyond for decades?

Joan and crew are more than just a food bank. It’s not about publicity. It’s support that comes from the heart.

With 10% of last Saturday’s sales, two customers who donated extra and a little rounding up ourselves- we are happy to be writing a $50 check out to Sussex Community Help Center.

The center is much more than a food pantry and is a place that gives care and hope to those in Sussex-Wantage in times of need!

This Thursday 10% of sales goes to Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library

This Friday, Arbor Day, 10% will go towards NJ/PA Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation

And this Saturday that 10% will go towards the Sussex Wantage Historical Society .

Looking forward to seeing everyone as we button up the shop, continue our 50% off Sale and continue giving back!

Today's featured initiative: Sussex Community Help Center.

With our remaining days at the storefront- we will keep giving back! On top of the 50% Off, 10% of your purchase will go to good causes in Sussex County or in the Tri-State region.

When we started the art gallery/classroom on Main Street, it was located right next door to the Help Center and we learned just how vital this operation is to the well-being of the Borough. Joan, who runs the space, prided herself in never turning anyone away and in the bounce backs she witnessed. Her and other volunteers continued the food pantry at great risk to their personal health through the uncertainty of these last few years and increasing needs from the community.

The food pantry is supported by several area churches. One local pastor even admitted to us their envy of Joan's good works. Perhaps doing good is something to be envious over. (Wouldn't it be interesting if billionaires started trying to one up each other on the good they could do? Anyways- that is a digression.) The truth is that the Center doesn't run on food alone- but has an overhead. Also, Joan works hard on getting specifics that people who come to her need specifically- dietary requirements, diapers, educational material, the perfect birthday present for a child, etc. She gets to knows these people and cares.

So this is why 10% of sales today go to the Sussex Community Help Center! We will also have a jar for donations and will collect non-perishable food for the Center until closing!

Please remember Sussex Community Help Center in these times. Whether you have a big heart liking to donate or are in need yourself- Sussex Community Help Center has always been a place for community to turn to. Supported by several area churches and kind individuals, the Help Center has helped thousands and will continue its mission to provide everything it can to those in need.
