As always for an NPM, it’s always an adventure getting to and from. They all made the hard ride up battling weather, breakdowns, and even boots breaking down, but all made it safe that went. Wanted to highlight a Brother. Made the ride up, doing his thing, got a new to him bike while there, and then like true military fashion while you are halfway across the country getting that phone call. Having to leave a day earlier than planned on a new ride and having to make it back to go straight to training, what better way to do it and break in the new bike like an Iron Butt (1,000mi in less than 24hrs). Not even 1/4 of the way in catching a nail in the front tire with nobody open at the time, quick Dunkin stop and an ugly plug job later back on the road, in and out of isolated storms, heat, and exhaustion still pushed through and completed the Iron Butt just to take a quick shower and drive another 4hrs to go to last minute training. Was able to catch him on the home stretch. Safe travels to everyone as they head back from another great weekend in the Eagle Nation 514 🦅
