May was an incredibly busy month for Altrusa of the West Valley. We welcomed Altrusans from all over District Eleven to our area for the district conference at the beginning of beginning of the month.

On May 14th we hosted our annual HSE awards program at Rio Salado College, honoring graduates of the college’s high school equivalency program.

On May 18 and 19 we attended the Peoria schools promotion ceremonies and honored each schools recipients of our annual Altruism Awards.

Both of the awards projects reflect our Club’s commitment to supporting literacy and community service initiatives In our communities. If you or someone you know would like to be involved in an organization focusing on literacy and community service

Members of Altrusa of the West Valley gathered with Neely Lewis, Instructional Service Supervisor at Rio Salado College in Surprise, AZ after her presentation to our conference introducing our attendees to the Adult Learning opportunities available to students in Maricopa County.
