A message from the Board of Directors of Surprise Youth Foundation
After years of incredible work together; building programs, supporting families, and lifting up young people across our community, we have an important announcement to share.
Surprise Youth Foundation officially ceased operations on May 28, 2026.
This was a decision made with love, reflection, and a deep commitment to making sure our mission continues, even beyond our organization.
We are proud to share that our remaining resources and assets will be transferred to Dysart Community Center, doing business as West Valley Community Center, a trusted organization that has long served the youth and families of our region. We have been working alongside the Community Center for six years, helping to expand and provide their afterschool, summer school and teen programs to disadvantaged youth in the historic Surprise Townsite. We believe in their work, their heart, and their dedication to the same values we've always held.
To every donor who trusted us with your generosity, thank you.
To every volunteer who gave your time, thank you.
To every family who walked through our doors, thank you.
To every young person who let us be part of your journey, thank you, most of all.
Our chapter is closing, but your stories continue. And through West Valley Community Center, our work lives on.
We love this community. We always will.
