I am a firm believer in prayer. God has shone up and shone out for me more times than I can count. If not for the prayers from my family, friends, loved ones, and mostly myself, where would I be? If not for His grace that covers me, would I have even survived each trial presented? Time and faith have both shown me that each trial was only a test to lead to my testimony.

So I come to you all now, asking for deep intercessory prayer for my youngest son, Jeremiah. Named after the Weeping Prophet Jeremiah from the Bible. He needs your prayers and God’s grace. I can not say more than that. When in need, the specifics aren’t important. The need is what outweighs the circumstance.

Lord God, I come to you, humbled and in your service. Please watch over your child and prophetic spirit, Jeremiah. Guide him Lord to help him continue to see your light and know that all things are possible through you. We need a miracle, sweet Jesus. We need you to deliver your son to safety and keep him forever in your care. I ask you to please protect him from harm and don’t allow his love for you be diminished but instead enhanced and overflowing. In Jesus name, Amen!

Unfortunately, this time of year sees an increase in child drowning events. As someone who as lost a child to such a tragedy, I know full well the importance of teaching good water safety to our children. Don't tell yourself it would never happen to you. Instead, take preventative measures to make sure or at the least, increase your chances of success.

"So Today This Little Boy Came Into The Store And Asked Me 'Where Do You Guys Have The Cheapest Shoes?' So I Showed Him Were They Are. So I Asked Him. If These Where For School. He Said Yea. I Looked At His Feet And Saw The Shoes That He Was Wearing Were Destroyed. Literally They Were Breaking Apart. I Asked Him If He Wore That For The First Day Of School And He Said Yes. He Told Me In A Low Voice A Story And That Sh*t Broke My Heart. I Told Him. Don't Worry. Pick Any Shoe You Like. He Said Why 'I'm Not Gonna Have The Money' I Told Him 'Don't Worry, I'll Buy Them For You.'He Was Like 'Really?!!' I Said Yea Of Course. He Got His Favorite Shoes. And I Told Him To Make Me A Promise. To Get Good Grades And Be Good In School. He Said He Promises. He Kept Telling Me This Is Unreal And Couldn't Believe It Was Happening. So My New Buddy Walked Of Of Finish Line With A Brand New Pair Of Shoes For The School Year.. Nothing Makes Me More Happy Than Seeing Someone With A Smile On There Face. Helping People Is The Best Gift God Has Given Me. Have A Good School Year. Bless Up."

“Today I adopted a human. It broke my heart to see him so lonely and confused. And suddenly I got his teary eyes to meet mine. I don't like the smell of sad. I wanted to jump on him so bad. He spoke to me with cuteness and I knew it, I had to rescue him!, that human needed me. So I bark with all my strength, I followed him blocks and blocks.
I got close, I could smell his hands. The human smiled for an instant and when he took me in his arms, I started to feel his ice cream heart warmed. I approached his cheeks and felt a tear roll on them. I looked at him deeply and his response was a brilliant smile. I jumped excited into his arms, I promised to behave, love him forever and never part with his side.
How lucky he was to go through that block, down that street and I feel lucky too.
There were so many people walking around and no one was looking at me. All worried, all in their troubles. Glad no one else chose me Today I saved a life. Today I adopted a human” 🐾 🐕

The one and only Oprah Winfrey has been such a wonderful friend to me and Barack over the years. That’s why it meant so much to write about her remarkable legacy for . Here’s what I shared:

Once, while speaking to a group of college graduates, Oprah said something about her years as an interviewer that struck me. She said, “The common denominator that I found…is we want to be validated. We want to be understood.”

Whether she’s talking to pop stars, Presidents, schoolgirls, scholars—or she’s asking you about your life over a glass of wine in the living room—Oprah has always had that uncanny ability to open us up, to hear beyond our words, and to uncover a higher truth, to be vulnerable with us in a way that allows us to be vulnerable back.

That’s her secret. But what I love most about Oprah is that she has never been content to keep it for herself.

When Oprah connects with something—a person, a book, a song, an idea—she makes sure to shine her light on it. She validates it. She anoints it. People know that when Oprah is involved, there is no pretense, no fluff—whether it’s her work in arts and media or her philanthropic work on health care, food equity, and more.

Every project she touches follows the same pattern, asking us to think critically about our society and how it works, reminding us of our common humanity, and challenging us to take our victories and failures, our pride and vulnerability—and make it all seen.

That’s why no matter where you go, everyone knows her name.

And all of it makes me wonder: maybe her success isn’t rooted in the fact that she found a common denominator that unites us all. Maybe Oprah is our common denominator.
