OUR STORY
Founded in honor of Michael John Mirabella, his parents Cathy & Terry Moeller along with his brothers and sister continue his legacy for Cycle4Awareness emerged from a heartfelt desire to support those affected by autism, special needs, disabilities. Inspired by family and a love for adventure, our organization organizes cycling events that raise funds and awareness for autism-related ca

uses. Unfortunately, after his return from his journey in 2013 he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and sadly lost his battle with cancer on December 2, 2014. In 2012, Mike teamed up with Ryan Rickus and they decided that they would like to cycle from Philadelphia to Key West to raise money and awareness for Autism Speaks Foundation. On the 15th of August 2012, Ryan and Mike started there journey to Key West. Their goal was to cover 100 miles a day while spending their down time at a hotel, crash at a kind local’s, or under a tree, and that’s exactly what they did. That following summer, 2013, Cycle4Awareness decided to change the organization they were helping, the route they would be cycling and would recruit a new teammate. Mike wanted to have a bigger impact, so he decided to help a smaller organization. Cycle4Awareness was fortunate enough to hook up with Athletes Helping Athletes Inc. Athletes Helping Athletes Inc is a wonderful organization that connected special needs athletes with student-athletes in the spirit of friendship for mutual benefit and inspiration. The new route was along way from Philadelphia, Cycle4Awareness decided to cycle the West Coast, from Vancouver to San Diego and managed to pick up a new member, Fergal Barry. On the 14th of August 2013; Ryan, Mike and Fergal started the journey down the West Coast. They had the same premise to cycle 100 miles a day and with the help of the website Warm Showers, they had places to stay

We envision a world where people with autism are fully included and supported. Through our events, we strive to foster understanding and appreciation for the unique contributions of individuals with disabilities, promoting a more inclusive society. Each pedal stroke during our rides contributes to meaningful change. We collaborate with various organizations to ensure that the funds raised go directly towards programs that empower individuals with autism and provide essential resources for families.
