💙 June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month 💙

Sometimes when we talk about men's mental health, we focus on what men do instead of who they are.

The reality is that men account for nearly 80% of su***de deaths in the United States.

That's not because men are weak.

It's because a lot of men grow up hearing things like "man up," "get over it," or "keep it to yourself." Over time, that can make it hard to talk about struggles, ask for help, or let people know when things aren't okay.

Every man deserves to know that his struggles matter.

This month is a reminder to check in on the men in our lives, listen without judgment, and make space for real conversations.

You don't have to earn support.
You don't have to be falling apart to ask for help.
And you don't have to go through hard things alone.

💙

One of the things we love most about being part of the Mineral County Helpline is the opportunity to give back to the community we call home. ❤️

Every day looks a little different at the Helpline. Some days we're helping someone navigate a difficult situation, find resources, complete paperwork, or simply providing a listening ear when they need support. Other days we're stocking the hygiene pantry, preparing for community programs, or finding ways to help local families access the things they need.

While we often walk alongside people during some of their hardest moments, we also get to be part of so many positive ones. We love our Back to School Program and helping kids start the year with confidence. We love keeping our hygiene pantry available for those who need it. We love our Christmas program and seeing the generosity of this community come together to make the holidays brighter for local families.

What makes this work so special is that it's all connected. Whether someone needs support during a crisis, help finding resources, school supplies for their children, hygiene items, or a little extra help during the holidays, it's all about the same thing, neighbors helping neighbors.

Not every problem can be solved overnight, but if we can be a little bit of sunshine in someone's rain, a source of encouragement, or a helping hand when it's needed most, then we're doing what we're here to do.

We truly believe the Mineral County Helpline is a resource our county needs, and we're excited to continue growing, expanding programs, and building something even greater for the people of Mineral County.

Thank you to everyone who supports us, volunteers, donates, partners with us, and believes in what we're doing. We couldn't do it without you. 🤍

Most people think poverty is always visible. The reality is, many struggles are hidden behind smiles, routines, and people doing everything they can to make life feel “normal.” Sometimes it looks like stretching products a little longer, skipping events, or quietly going without so someone else can have what they need.

If you're in a place where you can help, consider donating or sharing essentials like toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, diapers, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, school supplies, or hygiene kits. Check in on a friend, support local organizations, or simply help a neighbor when you can. Small things can create a much bigger impact than most people realize. 🤍
