“The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.”
— Psalm 28:7 (KJV)

O Lord, teach us to surrender quietly before Thee.
Help us to lay down every burden we carry,
every fear we hide,
and every weight we try to bear alone.

Strengthen us where we are weak,
steady us where we are trembling,
and remind us that true strength is found
not in striving,
but in trusting Thee.

Draw our hearts into stillness,
where surrender becomes peace,
and dependence becomes rest.
Let Thy presence be our refuge,
Thy Word our comfort,
and Thy strength our support.

May we yield every anxious thought,
release every heavy load,
and rest in the God who sustains us.
Amen.

🌿 Prayer & Reflection
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
— Psalm 133:1 (KJV)

O Lord, teach our hearts to walk in unity and peace.
Quiet every prideful thought, soften every hardened place,
and draw us toward one another with humility and grace.

Help us to seek understanding instead of division,
gentleness instead of anger,
and love instead of distance.
Let Your Spirit guide us into harmony,
that our fellowship may reflect the beauty of Your presence.

Where there is tension, bring peace.
Where there is hurt, bring healing.
Where there is separation, bring reconciliation.
Make us instruments of unity,
that we may dwell together in the goodness You desire for Your people.
Amen.

In every path, acknowledge Him,
and His hand shall guide the way.
Trust quietly, walk humbly,
and let His wisdom lead your steps in peace.

Continuing in prayer, watching with thanksgiving, and asking God to open a door of utterance — that Christ may be made known as we ought to speak. A quiet reminder to stay faithful, thankful, and attentive to His leading.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.”
— Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

O Lord, teach our hearts to be still before Thee.
Turn our anxious thoughts into quiet trust,
and our restless worries into prayerful dependence upon Thy care.

Help us to lay every burden at Thy feet —
not with haste, but with thanksgiving,
believing that Thou hearest every request we bring.
Calm our spirit where fear has settled.
Steady our mind where uncertainty has taken hold.
Draw us into the peace that comes only from trusting Thee.

May Thy presence quiet the noise within us,
and may Thy Word lead us gently away from anxiety
and toward a heart that rests in Thee alone.
Amen.

Our Only Hope and Peace
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
— Romans 15:13 (KJV)

O Lord, Thou God of hope, quiet our hearts before Thee.
Fill us with Thy joy that strengthens, and Thy peace that steadies every troubled place within.
Teach us to trust Thee without haste, without fear, and without striving.

Let Thy Word calm our spirit.
Let Thy promises anchor our thoughts.
Let Thy presence draw us into stillness, where hope rises gently —
not forced, not hurried, but born of Thy Holy Ghost working within us.

Where we are weary, refresh us.
Where we are uncertain, guide us.
Where we feel empty, fill us with Thy joy and peace in believing.

Cause us to abound in hope,
that Christ may be magnified in our quiet confidence.
Amen.

Guidance and peace

Dolly Parton’s passing brought back a flood of memories for me. Her song “Coat of Many Colors” has always held a special place in my heart because it mirrors my own childhood in so many ways.

I grew up in poverty, but I never felt poor — not in the ways that truly matter. My mother couldn’t afford new clothes for us, not even thrift store ones, so she would patiently sew our dresses and shirts from whatever fabric she could find. Patch by patch, stitch by stitch, she created something out of nothing. I wore those clothes to school, sometimes with visible patches, and yes… some kids bullied me for it. They laughed, pointed, whispered. But even then, I didn’t let it break me. I knew those patches were made with love, and that made them priceless.

As I look back now through the lens of faith, I see God’s hand in all of it. What the world saw as “less,” God used to teach me resilience, gratitude, and the truth that real wealth is found in love, family, and His grace. My mother stitched dignity into every piece of fabric she touched — and God stitched hope into my heart through every trial.

Today, as we remember Dolly Parton, I also honor my mother and thank God for the humble beginnings that shaped me. My story, like that coat of many colors, is a reminder that God can turn scraps into something beautiful. Dolly Parton
