Meditate every day and prune out all the weaknesses, that the garden of your life may be beautiful. The world wants to make a slave of you. You must sn**ch time away from the world to be alone with the God. Suppose you are resting with eyes closed: someone comes and places flowers before you, but you are too sleepy to open your eyes. When you do, those flowers are gone. So it is with people who seek God half-heartedly. He comes to them, but their eyes are closed in dreams of this world, and when they open them again, He is gone. Seek Him sincerely, day and night, in meditation and in all your activities. When the dreams of your desires die away, you will find Him everywhere.

Pray with me: “Heavenly Father, bless me that I develop all the seeds of spiritual power and success that are within me and that I use them to please Thee, whom I love more than all Thy gifts. Be Thou mine evermore.”

~C A L M N E S S~

Knowing that you are a child of God, make up your mind to be calm no matter what happens.

If your mind is fully identified with your activities, you cannot be conscious of the Lord, but if you are calm and receptive to Him within while being active without, you are rightly active.

Each time a swarm of worries invades your mind, refuse to be affected; wait calmly while seeking the remedy.

Spray the worries with the powerful chemical of your peace. You cannot buy peace; you must know how to manufacture it within, in the stillness of your daily practices in meditation.

When you think that you have reached the utmost depth of silence and calmness, go deeper still. In the silence you will receive from God the answers to your life's problems.

Thanksgiving Day

Loving and divine souls,

Let the choicest blessings of God and the masters be upon all of you. I take this opportunity to pray for you, and I send my best wishes on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving is another name for expressing gratitude and appreciation for the kindness that we receive from the visible world and the invisible providence. Expressing thanks or being grateful is a sign of civility.

In spiritual life one should practice “thanksgiving” from breath to breath. First, appreciation should be offered to God, then to nature, animals, plants, humans, friends, and even those whom we may not like.

In spiritual life this art of thanksgiving should be practiced from the early morning, while getting up from bed, until it is time to sleep. Shri Gurudev taught us to thank God during every breath. This is the real thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving as a day of celebration was new to me. When I traveled to the West, my first Thanksgiving was in 1996, in Cincinnati. I learned about this celebration and that it has become a global event. Since that time I am happy to remember this day and whenever possible write you.

Thanksgiving should not be an event of a day or an evening or a dinner as observed in the West; it should be a lifelong continuous celebration.

In my personal life I offer my thanks and gratitude to all of you, for your love, kindness, and support, for your inspiration, appreciation, and motivation, and for your presence in my life in various ways. I am ever grateful and indebted. I also ask for forgiveness, if in any manner, knowingly or unknowingly, I have hurt you or your sentiments in any form. With your kind hearts and broad minds, you will not be misers in forgiving.

As I conclude this writing, I offer my silent Thanksgiving to God and the masters. They are everything of our existence and the play of life. Simultaneously I am asking forgiveness from the ever loving and compassionate God and gurus for our triviality and silliness and our mistakes and trespasses.

During Thanksgiving I am praying for all of you and the entire creation asking for spiritual progress, peace, and perfection.

I bow to all of you, and again I offer my thanks.

With Love,

Our goal is to create a spiritual environment of love, compassion, cooperation, and service for sincere spiritual seekers and all of creation.
