La Pine Elementary was Sunriver-La Pine Oregon Rotary Club Gift of Literacy recipient last week. Giving books to all 1st grade classes in South Deschutes County is one of our favorite programs.

Friends of the Children of Central Oregon was awarded a grant from Sunriver-La Pine Oregon Rotary Club. We loved having them speak at our meeting about mentoring a child for 12.5 years in South Deschutes County.

Assistance League of Bend was awarded a grant from Sunriver-La Pine Oregon Rotary Club. We loved having them at our meeting this morning to learn more about Operation School Bell, Cinderella's Closest, and Literacy Programs here in South Deschutes County.

Rosland Elementary School 1st graders received their Sunriver-La Pine Oregon Rotary Club Gift of Literacy books yesterday. This is one of our favorite events we do. Each 1st grader gets to pick their favorite books out of a selection given to each teacher. Then they get the surprise. They get to take that book home!
