Sunnyvale Sister City Association had HANAMI (Cherry Blossoms Viewing Picnic) today at Braly Park and more than 500 people signed up. Combining American culture (Egg Hunting) and Japanese Culture (HANAMI), more people were interested in. They enjoyed beautiful cherry blossoms and food under blue sky.

Hi everyone! Applications for the Sunnyvale/Iizuka 2024 Student Exchange Program are now open via our website! If you have a student between 7th and 12th grade who lives in or goes to school in Sunnyvale AND are interested in visiting and homestaying in Japan, please apply!

Starting in 2014, SSCA has worked with the Iizuka Friendship Network and Iizuka City to facilitate two student exchange programs for students from 7th to 12th grade:

I attended Dawn Maher's farewell party at Eisenhauer's today. She was president of the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce and helped our organization, especially at the Art and Wine Festival. Mayor Klein was these to deliver some nice words. Thank you, Dawn!

If you are interested in being a host family for a Japanese University student (he is not related Iizuka) from 2/18 (Sat) to 3/15 (Wed), please let me know. He majors Technology and Science.
