Happy Lunar New Year, and this is a reminder (in case you missed it) that Sierra 49ers is meeting again, on Zoom every Wednesday evening, at 6:30 PM Pacific Time. (Oh yes, reminder #2, set your clocks forward on Sunday morning for Daylight Savings time!)

Since we have 1.2k folks following our page, I'd love to see a dozen of you on zoom next week. Even better, we're looking for a half-dozen new members, to help us qualify for our Distinguished Club Award.

Finally, we're hoping that we can get 6-12 members who are willing to meet in person, and host the meeting as "Hybrid" (in-person plus Zoom) so some of our remote members can still attend.

I sent this message to a Christian friend in Africa, where poverty is denying children education and other things. They have no money to pay teachers or to buy educational materials and classroom equipment. "I was praying this morning about you and the children. First, I was reminded that Rabbi in Hebrew means teacher. You my brother may be called to first teach the children and then teach other good people to become teachers. You can cover a plant. blocking the sunlight, and show the children the science of all life receiving energy from the sun. Plants grow and animals eat plants and we then have meat, as well as all plants that have seeds. If you get this started, then we may be able to ask for contributions, but you will know that you are doing God's work. Jesus loved the little children."
