It was such an honor to mobilize with global health leaders, practitioners, delegates, and philanthropists at the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva.
As a founder of the global surgery movement and one of the first to move away from the fly-in model and prioritize local surgical training, we are excited about the emphasis on investing in local surgical leadership.
Represented by ReSurge President and CEO Claire Lachance, Chief Development Officer Joshua Korn, and Surgical Partner Dr. Rose Alenyo, we had a great conversation with the Uganda Ministry of Health delegation to explore how ReSurge can support local initiatives on surgical and anesthesia access.
We participated in a gathering of global surgery organizations at the G4 Alliance meeting and gathering organized by the Global Surgery Foundation. We also had the honor of connecting with the Executive Director of the G4 Alliance, Colin McIff; the former U.S. Ambassador to Uganda, Jimmy Kolker; and Medical Volunteer and Nurse Educator Katie Osborn.
Together, we're determined to continue scaling long-term access to local surgical care and training for low- and middle-income communities worldwide.
