✨ Member Spotlight: Sarita Patel ✨

Sarita Patel’s journey with Toastmasters International began at a dental continuing education seminar focused on treatment planning and patient communication. Recognizing the importance of confident communication, she attended her first meeting at Speakeasy Toastmasters 5340—and quickly discovered that Toastmasters offers far more than public speaking.

“It was a full journey in leadership, networking, and personal growth,” she reflects. Encouraged by the supportive community and mentorship, Sarita made the decision to join that very evening.

One of the most impactful lessons she has learned is the value of authenticity. Rather than striving to emulate others, she found that genuine connection comes from sharing personal experiences in her own voice—an approach that has strengthened both her speaking and her professional relationships.

As a dentist, effective communication is essential. Through Toastmasters, Sarita has developed greater confidence in patient interactions and strengthened her ability to engage with peers as a leader. The skills she has built extend beyond her profession, enhancing her ability to form meaningful, authentic connections in all areas of her life.

Sarita is particularly drawn to informative speeches that incorporate storytelling, using real-world experiences to educate and inspire her audience.

The new year is in full swing, and this is the perfect time to build confidence, sharpen your speaking skills, and strengthen your leadership voice. Growth at Toastmasters doesn’t just happen at the lectern — it happens by showing up and stepping into roles.

At each meeting, members grow by taking on roles like Timer, Ah-Counter, and Grammarian, building awareness, active listening, and leadership skills in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
