While we have important conversations about food insecurity the scarcity of access to affordable food or food within walking distance has an impact on everyone within our communities. In the 6 counties that WYO HELP serves only 1 community has a national brand store that typically has lower prices. That place is Rawlins and they have 2. The rest of our communities either don't have a grocery store or it is a grocery store that has higher prices than a national brand might have with a 30 minute to an hour drive.
How do we change this reality?
The honest answer? It would take most of the people in a community working together to find solutions. The best places to live are often those where people find a way to work together towards common goals.
