The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial

The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial We are a non-profit 501(c)3 Corporation and are registered with the Ohio Secretary of State's Office.

The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial was founded and established in 2005 by several local Veterans who had a vision to build a beautiful tribute to all of the men and women in uniform from Ohio that have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our Country in the Global War on Terrorism since September 11, 2001. Thanks to the efforts of countless volunteers, the Village of Sunbury and many financial contr

ibutors the memorial became a reality when it was dedicated on June 30, 2007. The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial is recognized by Ohio House Resolution 30 as a statewide Memorial honoring all Ohio Military personnel killed in the War on Terrorism.

Each day at sunset, as part of the ODVS Ohio Taps Project, we pay tribute to an Ohioan who died while serving our country.

Tonight, we salute Army Staff Sergeant Kevin J. Kessler of Canton, who lost his life Aug. 30, 2010, in the Arghandab River Valley, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Also killed in the attack were Army Pfc. Chad D. Clements, Army Capt. Dale A Goetz, Army Staff Sgt. Jesse Infante, and Army Staff Sgt. Matthew J. West.

🦅Ceremony at the OFHM grounds is open to the public - begins at 1:00 pm est at 79 1/2 W Cherry St, Sunbury, OH 43074
Please bring your folding chairs and blankets; there is lots of space for everyone to pack the grounds! Let's come together to thank the men and women who have protected us and show support for our heroes and their families. ❤️
⭐️The Gold Star Family Luncheon will start at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church across the street from the Memorial. Gold Star Families will be escorted from the luncheon to the Memorial with bagpipes and drums. All of our heroes names will be read aloud at the public ceremony ❤️
