The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial

The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial We are a non-profit 501(c)3 Corporation and are registered with the Ohio Secretary of State's Office.

The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial was founded and established in 2005 by several local Veterans who had a vision to build a beautiful tribute to all of the men and women in uniform from Ohio that have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our Country in the Global War on Terrorism since September 11, 2001. Thanks to the efforts of countless volunteers, the Village of Sunbury and many financial contr

ibutors the memorial became a reality when it was dedicated on June 30, 2007. The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial is recognized by Ohio House Resolution 30 as a statewide Memorial honoring all Ohio Military personnel killed in the War on Terrorism.

Each day at sunset, as part of the ODVS Ohio Taps Project, we pay tribute to an Ohioan who died while serving our country.

Tonight, we salute… Marine Lance Corporal Thomas O. Keeling, who died in an explosion while conducting combat operations with 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, in Haqlaniyah, Iraq, on June 9, 2005. A graduate of Strongsville High School and Kent State, Thomas was a leader in his family and always there to help.

Tonight, we salute Air Force Airman 1st Class Eric M. Barnes from Lorain, who tragically lost his life on June 10, 2007, as result of an improvised explosive device attack on an Air Force convoy about 100 miles south of Baghdad.

We are excited to announce we have a new Site Manager at The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial! ❤️🙌🏻
Although he is new to the position, he has been a long time supporter, sponsor and friend to the organization.
Scott Wagner, owner of 1st Impressions Landscape & Garden Center for close to 30 years, has donated countless service hours, supplies and heart to maintaining the OFHM grounds year over year.
We are so thankful to Scott and 1st Impressions and are excited he is officially taking over as Site Manager.
Be sure to stop and say hello if you see him out and about at the Memorial! 🤗🇺🇸
