Dear BW Community,

This year we are a certified America 250 community. Our community is blessed with so many generous sponsors which makes this entire day free.

Did you know our parade is almost 40 years old? It is one of the best parades in Ohio and we are so excited for 2026 but we need your help! As our community has grown, so has the needs of our parade.

Many people sit at the same place every year, please consider helping us keep our little spectators safe by wearing a red vest and stand in the street near your beloved spot. Safety is our number one goal and we would love your support by simply reminding all to stay back, we will get the candy to them.

If you don't want to deal with the crowds, consider helping behind the scenes in the parade staging area. You can direct traffic, help register, help line up entries, decorate dignitaries cars, drive a convertible or just be there to help out where needed. You can watch the entries go out and sneak out ahead of traffic to get home before the parade ends.

We typically have around 100 entries and we manage to get them all out in roughly 40 minutes. We have leaders in place but need support. It's always a little chaotic behind the scenes but it becomes magical when the parade turns the corner and hits Columbus Street to start.

In the evening at BWMS, there are opportunites to serve as well in Kid's Zone, trash and overall assistance to our event chairs. This year's show is going to be BIGGER and BETTER! We anticipate the visability to be much greater in the outlaying areas throughout Sunbury and Galena.

In order to make one of the greatest days successful, we need all hands on deck. We kindly ask you to consider volunteering for a shift during our BW Civic Association's July 4th events. We would greatly appreciate your time and efforts. Its a great way for students to get community hours. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or our team. SUNBURY - On Friday, November 14, 2025, at 7 p.m., the Eagles will host Canal Wi******er in the OHSAA Division II Regional Semifinal in the biggest home football game in school history, and one that demands every ounce of community support.

Both teams enter the game at 10–1, with Big Walnut earning the No. 1 seed in Region 7 and Canal Wi******er coming in as the No. 4 seed. It’s a heavyweight clash with a trip to the regional final on the line, and Big Walnut needs its community behind it like never before.

And here’s the urgent reality: the only way to truly experience this game is to be in the stadium.
The matchup is only being broadcast live on the Spectrum Network for a subscription fee, and OH Report is restricted to a tape-delayed broadcast. If you want to feel the hits, hear the crowd, ride the momentum, and be part of a once-in-a-generation atmosphere, you have to be there in person.

Big Walnut is calling on every student, every family, every alumnus, and every supporter.

“We need a packed house. We need every voice. Our student-athletes deserve for this place to be rocking. They have worked so hard all year for this moment,” said Athletic Director Brian Shelton.

The Eagles will rely on their explosive offense, relentless defense, and a senior class that’s spent years preparing for nights like this.
