Saturday Field Update – Great News!

We’re excited that the rain has finally stopped and the fields are coming back to life. Most games for Saturday are on as scheduled.

We do still need to keep Field 3 at BWE closed, so we’ve made two small field adjustments to keep everything running smoothly:

Kinder age group → Field 3

Minor’s Coach Pitch Softball → Field 2

There are no time changes — only field assignments. All updates should now be visible on your team’s GameChanger schedule.

Thank you for your flexibility this week. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the fields!

BWBSA Families — Important Field Update

After more than 5 inches of rain this week, our fields simply cannot drain fast enough to be playable. Because of that, we are closing all BWBSA fields until Saturday.

We know this is disappointing, especially for teams scheduled to play tonight. We’re truly sorry we can’t get the fields open. Our volunteers have been working nonstop, and we’ll continue doing everything we can to make sure the fields are ready as soon as possible.

The good news: with the current forecast, we feel very confident about Saturday’s schedule. The fields just need time to rest and slowly drain so they’re in good shape for the rest of the season.

If you still want baseball or softball in your evening, it’ll be a beautiful night to head over to Big Walnut High School and cheer on the varsity boys in their playoff game. First pitch is at 5 PM. If you go, please wear your jersey and cheer loudly for our Eagles.

Tomorrow night, our Big Walnut Varsity Golden Eagles take the field at home at 5:00 PM, and we’d love to see our BWBSA families out there supporting them.

These varsity athletes are a great example of what hard work, dedication, and commitment to the game can lead to. In just a few years, our players could be the ones competing in games like this, and seeing the next level up close is one of the best motivators for young athletes.

If you’re able to go, wear your game jersey and cheer them on. Let’s show the Golden Eagles how strong the Big Walnut baseball community is.

This past weekend, our annual Eagle Classic travel baseball tournament faced unprecedented weather challenges. Nearly four inches of rain, multiple delays, and venue changes could have brought everything to a halt — but our staff, coaches, and volunteers stayed locked in and kept the tournament moving.

A special thank‑you to the Big Walnut Local Schools and the Big walnut high school baseball coaching staff for stepping in and providing access to the high school field. Their support played a major role in keeping the event on track and giving teams a place to compete.

Moments like this show what makes Big Walnut special — schools, families, and the travel program all pulling in the same direction for our players.

Congratulations to the Pickerington Predators Baseball, our 14U champions. Strong weekend of baseball — see you next year.

BWBSA Evening Game Update

Here’s the plan for tonight based on current field conditions at BWE and around the league:

• BWE Field 1 — OPEN
Argabrite vs. Highland Landis will play at 6:00 PM as scheduled.

• BWE Fields 2 & 3 — Infields OPEN, Outfields CLOSED
To keep games playable, we are shifting a few matchups:

Killilea vs. Hochberg is moving from GRE → BWE Field 2

Ringwalt vs. Johnstone is moving from PRE → BWE Field 3

Both infields are ready for baseball.

• Additional Move

Dlouhy vs. Bentz is moving from BWE Field 3 → GRE for tonight.

• Machine Pitch

Machine Pitch remains unchanged on BWE Field 4.

• Majors Division

All Majors games are postponed for this evening.

Community assistance needed:

Over the last few weeks the vandalism and theft at our Big Walnut Elementary School facility has become increasingly concerning. If your son or daughter is someone who makes their way over to the school to play or hangout please have a conversation with them about respecting the facility.
