It’s been a little quiet at MadTown BMX this week…and that’s because Mother Nature had other plans. 🌧️

Unfortunately, the heavy rain we’ve received forced Phase 2 of our track build to end early. We had hoped to have a lot more features completed this week, but when you’re building a BMX track, the weather gets the final say.

The good news? Progress is still happening.

We were able to get in a few more rollers on our pro line before the rain put us at a standstill. We were also able to secure more dirt 🎉, which will have us ready to hit the ground running when our track builder returns in July.

We’re also excited to host our MadTown BMX Open House for Business & Community Partners on Wednesday, June 17 at 6pm. If you know a local business owner, community leader, or potential sponsor who would like to learn more about our nonprofit and how they can help make this facility a reality, please share the event and invite them to attend. (and that rain in the forecast better go away!)

As a reminder, this event is only for business owners or community leaders interested in supporting the track. We are having an open house for families and riders at a future date. Keep an eye out for that info coming soon.

We are now just 1 day away from the Ted Johnson Memorial featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and BMARA Racing ! We are anticipating a huge crowd for tomorrow so here is some information to help everyone be prepared when they come to the track.

(Upgrade any ticket to a Pit Pass for $10 on Race Day)

Will Call Tickets to be picked up at the Main Ticket Gate on race day at the track, with valid form of ID.

Camping Information: Camping is allowed up to 2 days prior and 1 day following a show. We ask that you camp only in parking areas outside of the perimeter fence (upper lot adjacent to Grove St. or lower lot adjacent to Park and Market St.) Please be respectful of the grounds and use designated trash receptacles. Please also be respectful of local ordinances, noise curfew, alcoholic beverages etc. Sorry no campfires.

Concession Stands: We will have 5 concession stands open tomorrow night. We will also have Cowlick's Cones Ice Cream Trailer on site.

Hall of Fame: Firemen’s Angell Park Speedway is home to the National Midget Racing Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is open during all racing events and is located on the Lower Level of the Pavilion.

Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in spectator seating areas or in the pits. Please use areas to the rear of the grandstands away from other spectators (gravel road).

You may have to use your imagination or squint… but it’s there! 😆Starting hill is to the upper left with turn 2 directly below it… so you’d be riding left to right in this picture and then turn 3 is behind turn 1 (so we’ll still have our “dark side”)! 🎉

Things are a bit wet this morning after all the rain we’ve had, but we are still out there working today. Here’s a quick ride of the BMX track with all 3 turns roughed in. It’s exciting to see those rollers going into turn 3.

Week Recap!

✅ Our Snack Shack is being transformed into our future Registration Building.

✅ The starting gate is beginning to get installed.

✅ We did our first 50/50 raffle of the season at Angell Park Speedway

✅ All turns are now roughed in, and you can start to see features taking shape between Turns 2 and 3.

As you know, a huge focus this week was dirt work. Our track builder is in town for a two-week build window and identified key areas where additional material was needed for drainage and feature shaping. After an urgent call out on Facebook, our amazing community stepped up within hours with several generous dirt donations…keeping the build moving forward. Thank you!

We are still in need of many more truckloads of clean, clay-based fill dirt to finish the project. If you know of a construction site or contractor in the Sun Prairie area looking to dispose of material, please send them our way.

🎟️ Volunteer Opportunity: We’re currently looking for adults and youth to help sell 50/50 raffle tickets at Angell Park Speedway events. Volunteers may receive limited-edition “Under Construction” shirts while supplies last. (Sign-up link in comments)

A lot has happened at MadTown BMX!

Thanks to the dirt donated this week, we’ve made great progress and now have rollers going into Turn 3!! Every load is helping bring this track to life.

We’re still looking for more dirt to finish building our features. If you’re working on a construction project in the Sun Prairie area and have clean fill, clay, or base dirt that needs a home, we’d love to take dump truck loads at our site next to Angell Park Speedway. Send us a message and we can work out the details.

As always, we’re also looking for sponsors, partners, and in-kind donations to help us complete this project. This is a massive undertaking being powered by a very small but dedicated group of volunteers, and every contribution makes a difference.

Financial donations have the biggest impact right now, but we’re grateful for supplies, services, and other support as well. In the near future, we’ll also be organizing community rock-picking days and would love to have everyone come out and help.

🚨 CLAY BASE DIRT NEEDED 🚨

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who helped spread the word and to the companies and individuals who have already delivered dirt to the new MadTown BMX track at Angell Park Speedway. The support has been incredible!

We now have plenty of road base dirt, but our next big need is clay base dirt to help us shape, pack, and finish track features.

We’re looking for:
✅ Construction companies with excess clay dirt from job sites
✅ Contractors looking for a place to dump clay-based material
✅ Local projects generating clean clay fill

If you’re in the Sun Prairie area and have clay base dirt available, send us a DM and we’ll provide details on where and how to drop it off.

Every load helps move this project forward and gets us one step closer to opening the new MadTown BMX track.

DIRT UPDATE! 🚛🚛🚛

What a day at MadTown BMX! Dump truck after dump truck after dump truck rolled in with road base dirt, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support from our community.

Thanks to everyone who shared our posts, spread the word, and helped make this happen. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

The good news: we have plenty of road base dirt right now! 🎉

Our next need is CLAY-based dirt to help us finish track features once this material is worked into the build. If you’re in the Sun Prairie area and have access to clay dirt that needs a home, send us a DM.
