Each member is important to the success and health of the entire community. The SCO is a support network made up of volunteers interested in hel
ping the Northside School Community. These volunteers help out in many ways 1) as an information resource for parents and families, 2) by volunteering their time and ideas both in school and for special events, and 3) as a fund raising group. What does the SCO do? School Support: Organizing volunteers, promote the health and safety of all children, work with teachers and staff to improve the school-wide environment. Family Support: Social events for students and their families, Northside Beautification, and encouraging school connectedness. Public Relations: Inform all members of the community about achievements and needs within the school, publish the yearbook, and organize the student directory. Finance: Fund raise in ways that are respectful of families resources and benefit all our students, fulfill Teacher Grant requests, and assist with selecting and purchasing equipment and supplies that enhance the school environment. What can I do with the SCO? Be a part of the SCO email distribution list. Stay informed with all the happenings around school. Volunteer to help once, monthly, or weekly. You can assist in a classroom, do prep work for teachers at home, or help with a special event like Open House, Family Fun Nights, or the Year End Celebration. Attend SCO meetings, which are held the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Childcare is provided! Share your ideas, hear from school staff and administration, and vote on initiatives that will improve the school environment.
