Sunshine Place Central resource for food, clothing and other vital services for Northeastern Dane County residents.

Sunshine Place is the primary community resource providing coordinated support services for children, families, and individuals in Sun Prairie and northeastern Dane County. We aim to increase equity for those most vulnerable in our community by offering one location where individuals can access social services to help with basic needs. Sunshine Place houses seven of its own programs and six partner agencies to help those experiencing housing insecurity, food insecurity, and other hardships that contribute to household instability.

🥰 Thank you to Sun Prairie Schools for recently inviting Sunshine Place to host a table at your Hispanic Heritage Celebration!

Our KiDs Closet program collaborated with school staff to provide a room full of FREE clothing for kiddos who needed it, and our staff/volunteers enjoyed speaking with families about how to access Sunshine Place services, and how to offer support. We loved seeing different cultures come together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through dancing, food, art, games, and more. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to participate meaningfully in this celebration of Hispanic heritage and community.

Some of the Sunshine Place staff were lucky to have the opportunity to attend the YWCA Madison's 25th annual Racial Justice Summit this year. It was a beautiful event to be a part of, and provided the chance to meet and talk with others working to build up stronger communities for all. We are grateful to all of the organizers and to the speakers and session leaders for their time, energy, and expertise. ❤

🙏🙏 A huge THANK YOU to everyone over at East Madison Toyota for hosting a "stuff the truck" donation drive for our Sunshine Pantry program, at their recent car show. Their efforts raised 227 lbs of food and products for the pantry, and $2,000 in monetary donations! Donated items help keep variety on our shelves, and monetary donations allow us to buy more for less through our wholesale suppliers. Both keep the pantry running!

East Madison Toyota is a long-time supporter of Sunshine Place and our pantry program, and we are so grateful that they use their leverage as a local business to better our shared community. 🥰

🌞 Are you a business interested in hosting a pantry drive? Contact [email protected].
🍎 Individuals can host drives too! Check out our pantry donation drive guides: https://sunshineplace.org/food-drive-kit/
