Central resource for food, clothing and other vital services for Northeastern Dane County residents.

Sunshine Place is the primary community resource providing coordinated support services for children, families, and individuals in Sun Prairie and northeastern Dane County. We aim to increase equity for those most vulnerable in our community by offering one location where individuals can access social services to help with basic needs. Sunshine Place houses seven of its own programs and six partne

r agencies to help those experiencing housing insecurity, food insecurity, and other hardships that contribute to household instability.

THANK YOU to the generous Sun Prairie community member (who wished to remain anonymous), who recently donated several hundred homemade pads and store-bought period supplies, so beautifully packaged! Some of the donated items were packaged in "sample sizes" so that our shoppers can try a product to see whether it works for them. This donor and her husband moved to WI three years ago to be close to family. They love the community and believe in being good neighbors: "Kindness is everything". 🙏

🌞 Sunshine Pantry is one of only a few pantries in the area that provides personal care products like period supplies, and donations are what keep those stocked. This is such an incredibly useful and thoughtful idea for a donation, and a great example of how each of us has skills and ideas to give back in our own unique way. Thank you again to this kind neighbor!

🌞 Sunshine Place staff and volunteers recently came together to help out at United Way of Dane County's Day of Caring event and had a blast!

Over 800 volunteers came together to package paper products, menstrual products, and snack packs, and to write notes of encouragement to local, older adults. Volunteers at the event assembled over 20,000 'ImPacks' of items that will go to neighbors throughout the community who need them the most, including Sunshine Place clients! 👏

Thank you to United Way for hosting this event, and for providing us with some of these vital supplies for our programs, including the pantry program, Food for Kids, and housing. We are so grateful for community partners like you! 🥰
