Today is the day! We look forward to gathering to learn more about the city services referendum on our upcoming spring ballot. See you at 1pm at the Colonial Club. 🗳️

SPARC COMMUNITY CONVERSATION: City Services Referendum 🗓️Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM 📍The Colonial Club (dining room)
301 Blankenheim Ln.

Join SPARC for a panel discussion that informs the community of an important question on our April 7 ballot in Sun Prairie. *There will also be time for questions.

Members of the panel include: 🎤 Aaron Oppenheimer- Sun Prairie City Administrator, 🎤 Neil Stechschulte- Monona City Administrator, 🎤 Jerry Deschane- Executive Director, League of Wisconsin Municipalities

Voters will be asked to decide whether they support a $3.95 million increase in the City’s annual property tax levy to improve public safety
services while maintaining the high-quality existing services and programs the community enjoys. If approved, additional funding would allow the City to hire three additional public safety personnel, including two firefighters and one patrol officer, as well as provide wages for part-time volunteer firefighters.

This referendum is authorized by state law and was proposed by the City Council because the state-imposed levy limit does not allow the City Council to increase the city government property tax levy sufficiently to maintain city services as the costs to provide those services increase.
