Who Can Join Rotary Club of Sun Lakes and Why?
Dr. Honora Norton

My father was a Rotarian. In 2002, after moving to Scottsdale from Wisconsin, I joined Rotary Club of Scottsdale. That membership resulted in genuine friendships, grew my personal and non-profit support network, and allowed me to give back through humanitarian service projects—i.e. I distributed polio immunization drops in Hermosillo Mexico barrios. Those benefits increased after moving to Gilbert’s East Valley and joining Rotary Club of Sun Lakes (RCSL). RCSL provided me with a unique mix of impact connections through its educational, veteran services and community service projects, and allowed me to share my communication skills as RCSL’s Public Image Director.

Agave Quilters Honoring Veterans
The Agave Quilters continue to create throughout the summer. Many of our members are currently piecing and quilting patriotic quilts for local veterans. Our goal is to complete these by November 1 when they will be delivered to the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders to be gifted during the holiday season, as part of their goal to show honor and respect by expressing gratitude to those who have served. The primary mission of the Patriotic Guard Riders is Honor and Memorial Missions.

Happy 30 Years!
For the past 30 years, Floridino's Pizza & Pasta has been serving the East Valley with a simple mission: provide great food, genuine hospitality, and a welcoming place where the community can gather.Locally owned and operated by business partners, Shaun Kelley and Jeff Weninger, Floridino’s is known for its handmade pizzas, pasta dishes, calzones, sandwiches, catering, and its famous Pizza Muffins. A longtime customer favorite that has become synonymous with the restaurant. What started as a neighborhood pizza and pasta shop has grown into a community staple for families, local businesses, sports teams, schools, and organizations throughout Chandler and the surrounding areas. What makes Floridino’s unique is its people-first culture. The restaurant focuses heavily on hospitality, consistency, and creating personal connections with guests. Many employees have been part of the team for years, helping create a warm and familiar atmosphere where customers feel like family. Whether guests are dining in, picking up dinner, hosting a catering event, or celebrating after a baseball game, the goal is always the same: make people feel welcome.Floridino’s has also become deeply involved in the local community through fundraising events, youth sports support, charity partnerships, and local organization involvement. The restaurant believes strong community relationships are just as important as great food.Located in the heart of Chandler on Alma School Road, Floridino’s continues to thrive because of its loyal customer base and commitment to evolving with the hospitality industry while staying true to its roots. By combining traditional hospitality with modern systems, catering growth, and technology, the restaurant has been able to continue serving guests at a high level for decades. At its core, Floridino’s is more than a restaurant. It is a place built on relationships, teamwork, community involvement, and the belief that hospitality still matters.
