Leadership is not always about being the loudest voice in the room — often, it’s about showing up consistently, leading with grace, and staying steady through every season. As we close this League year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing President, Jessica Ellis Fralick.

Thank you for your consistency, your unwavering leadership, and your levelheaded approach that helped guide us through challenges and celebrations alike. Your dedication, commitment, and ability to lead with both strength and thoughtfulness have left a lasting impact on our League and the women around you.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and heart you poured into this role. Thank you for leading the way and helping shape a successful year. 💙

We were able to celebrate and congratulate our newest Sustaining Members on reaching an incredible milestone — 10 years of service, dedication, and impact. Over the past decade, you have poured countless hours, energy, leadership, and heart into serving the Sumter community and strengthening our League.

We are so grateful for your guidance, commitment, and the example you’ve set for those following in your footsteps. While this chapter marks a special transition, we hope you’ll continue to stay involved, share your wisdom, and help shape the years ahead.

Community Impact in Action 💙

The Sumter Junior Welfare League is proud to share the impact of this year’s Community Research efforts. Through this process, we continue to learn more about the incredible organizations serving Sumter and how we can best support their missions.

This year, grant requests totaled over $61,000, demonstrating the growing needs within our community. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our members and supporters, SJWL was able to give over $17,000 back to the Sumter community.

These funds were made possible through our fundraising efforts, including:
✨ Deck the Doors (raising over $9,000!)
✨ Spring Mahjong Fundraiser
✨ Kendra Scott event at The Wishing Well

Thank you to everyone who participated, sold, and worked so hard to make these initiatives successful - your efforts truly make a difference.

A special thank you to our Community Research Committee for their leadership and commitment throughout this process.

We are honored to support this year’s grant recipients: Millwood Elementary School, Any Length Recovery, Inc., The Woman's Afternoon Music Club, American Heart Association, Sumter County Capernaum, Sumter Little Theatre, Sumter County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, Alice Drive Elementary School, Tandem, Sumter Behavioral Health, Rotary Club of Sumter Sunrise, YMCA of Sumter and Pietas Coalition Corp..

It is a privilege to partner with these organizations as they continue to strengthen and uplift the Sumter community. 💙

We are investing in the anti/trafficking seminar South Sumter Resource Center and the community safety seminar (with art contest) Community Literacy Lab

It means so much to see the impact of this grant in action - helping create opportunities for students to experience joy, adventure, and meaningful growth in an environment designed just for them.

We are SO grateful to the Sumter Junior Welfare League for their generous grant of $1,650 toward Capernaum Camp! Thank you for your commitment to giving back to our community!

Sumter Capernaum currently participates in three types of camping opportunities: Summer Camp, Winter Weekend Camp, and Local Day Camps.

Through the support of gracious community members like the JWL, we are able to help lower camp costs for families so that all of our students can experience fun, adventure, and growth in their faith in camping environments specifically designed to meet their unique needs.
